'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mata - We`ll Battle On

In a game of two halves, Chelsea were hanging on for the three points at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Juan Mata, interviewed after the final whistle, acknowledged what a hard fight it had been remarking,

'It was very hard, the second 45 minutes. We were defending until the last minute. We knew that Arsenal never give up and even winning 2-0 might not have been enough. But in the end it was."

'There is a big difference between the top of the table and us, but we are trying. We will try to get as many points as we can between now and the end of the season - that's Chelsea.'

That`s all we can ask for.

A very good result and whats more pleasing after our win is we widen the gap betwwen oursleves and Arsenal. A big confidence booster we can take into the LC cup game on Tuesday.

@Desmond...Mata's loss of form is because he is physically tired...give him a good rest and you'll see a different player, I dont know why tubby cant play Oscar centrally somtimes and rest mata...thank goodness there is no competition this coming summer, at least he can have a well deserved rest....

@layorh that is true, he is very tired and hazard would soon be the same if we don't rest him, not giving this players adequate rest and the timing of rafa's subs are the reasons I just and won't like him... I just hope he earns his pay and take us to top 3, I am not expecting him to win us any trophy

That's the spirit! Keep it up Mata. He is fast becoming my favourite newbie not just for his goals and assists, but for his personality and character too. I really hope that, just like we are rooting for Lampard to surpass Tambling's record in all time goalscorers list these days , in ten years we will be rooting for Mata to surpass Lampard's record too......;)
