It might be the least of our problems but hear me out.
Okay so we all know how Stamford Bridge is a fantastic ground and sometimes the atmosphere takes your breath away, for example Chelsea v. Napoli 2012 .
The amount of noise that blasted on to my TV screen was immense, I one day plan to catch a train to the capital and get a ticket (I live just under Scotland).
Anyway to the point - We all know the Manchester clubs get loads of revenue due to the capacity of their stadia, as Arsena , they all have 50k+ capacity stadiums, with United on something around 70k, Arsenal on 60k and City on 55k.
We however only have room for 41000, it`s full nearly every league game and I'm pretty sure there are quite a few supporters that cry when they see the sold out signs outside the stadium. We do not generate as much income from a revenue stream which could help in wages, transfers, equipment and debts (unlikely with Mr Roman at the helm).
Please do note that I have not done the math but I would love a 50-60k expandable stadium. Now I'm not going to talk about the sites we can build on (like Earls Court) as we've had a bid for the Battersea power station turned down.
I'm going to talk about, lets say we get a new stadium, I saw that Bruce Buck said it was still on the agenda a few months ago.
Let`s start with ideas from the other stadiums:-
The Emirates - A fantastically built stadium and with arguably the best pitch in the Premier League, the only thing it lacks is great atmosphere.
The Allianz Arena - Price of art, the stadium is just magnificent and the design is beautiful, the atmosphere is fantastic and can hold up to 69000, I really wouldn't mind having our, hopefully, new stadium look like it, the Inter changing colors on the outside are nice too.
A stadium like Signa Igunda Park would be good for us too considering it has the best atmosphere in the world, it is compact but allows standing adding an extra 10-20,000 supporters and with out standing it would still have at least 50-60k.
The Juventus Stadium is a good shout in terms of atmosphere but it only holds 40k.
A lot of you might say the SB shouldn't be deserted but you've got to understand that for a top club like Chelsea, you need a big stadium, look at Barca, Madrid, United, Milan, Bayern.
To those of you who think we'll get Twickenham, a football club doesn't buy the home of English rugby.
Finally, the Galatasaray stadium is also a worthy mention.
