Stamford Bridge....

It might be the least of our problems but hear me out.

Okay so we all know how Stamford Bridge is a fantastic ground and sometimes the atmosphere takes your breath away, for example Chelsea v. Napoli 2012 .

The amount of noise that blasted on to my TV screen was immense, I one day plan to catch a train to the capital and get a ticket (I live just under Scotland).

Anyway to the point - We all know the Manchester clubs get loads of revenue due to the capacity of their stadia, as Arsena , they all have 50k+ capacity stadiums, with United on something around 70k, Arsenal on 60k and City on 55k.

We however only have room for 41000, it`s full nearly every league game and I'm pretty sure there are quite a few supporters that cry when they see the sold out signs outside the stadium. We do not generate as much income from a revenue stream which could help in wages, transfers, equipment and debts (unlikely with Mr Roman at the helm).

Please do note that I have not done the math but I would love a 50-60k expandable stadium. Now I'm not going to talk about the sites we can build on (like Earls Court) as we've had a bid for the Battersea power station turned down.

I'm going to talk about, lets say we get a new stadium, I saw that Bruce Buck said it was still on the agenda a few months ago.

Let`s start with ideas from the other stadiums:-

The Emirates - A fantastically built stadium and with arguably the best pitch in the Premier League, the only thing it lacks is great atmosphere.

The Allianz Arena - Price of art, the stadium is just magnificent and the design is beautiful, the atmosphere is fantastic and can hold up to 69000, I really wouldn't mind having our, hopefully, new stadium look like it, the Inter changing colors on the outside are nice too.

A stadium like Signa Igunda Park would be good for us too considering it has the best atmosphere in the world, it is compact but allows standing adding an extra 10-20,000 supporters and with out standing it would still have at least 50-60k.

The Juventus Stadium is a good shout in terms of atmosphere but it only holds 40k.

A lot of you might say the SB shouldn't be deserted but you've got to understand that for a top club like Chelsea, you need a big stadium, look at Barca, Madrid, United, Milan, Bayern.

To those of you who think we'll get Twickenham, a football club doesn't buy the home of English rugby.

Finally, the Galatasaray stadium is also a worthy mention.

Huh?? are you suggesting we buy the Galatasaray stadium??
@Mq
battersea looked frakin awesome. but we nvr got it
Humza_96
mq im saying we build a stadium that locks atmosphere and has capacity , i gave a few examples...
CFCTalal
Nice one mate, it irks me that we have only a 41k capacity stadium and our fans are attached to it, but we need a big 70000 capacity stadium that will be good for us now and in future. A stadium will cost atleast 400m pounds
Desmondadonis
instead of building a new one...roman should buy some other club stadium and shift it here...its simple...:-)
shlok27
How about buying Wembley?
bluekid
If only the CPO would agree with u
Ken4CFC
wembley's owned by the FA lol
CFCTalal
was really dissapointed when we didn't get battersea..
CFCTalal
if we ever got a stadium , I'd love to see a design resembling the allianz arena
CFCTalal
I remember reading somewhere about the old trafford rebuilding where it was done in few stages until what it became now. Im still hoping that our club can somehow put in an expansion plan of a similar model
Gaban
this has been debated a lot lets look at inter and ac there that should cause some debate ha ha what you moaning at every year the price of land and building costs rise even our wealthy owner cant afford those figures so the obvious answer share with Qpr and make a huge stadium between us
herefordchelsea
No hope old chap -the CPO want to remain at Stamford Bridge. They prefer CFC as a small club innit...feckin losers.! IMO
JohnnyOz
(Not trying to be a smartazz) - I honestly don't know what the premise of the article is. What are you suggesting/asking m8?
ForeverChels
In all due respect JohnnyOz, you don`t know what you are talking about. You are obviously not a CPO shareholder. All shareholders want, is to know if SB can be enlarged or not, the club have not submitted enough info to us, to confirm that this is not possible. The council say it is possible. Not one member has a problem in relocation afer this issue is solved. You mention Earls Court and Battersea, neither of which are now viable, so I take it, that you will be happy sharing a new ground at White City with QPR will you ? www.stamfordbridgethetruth.blogspot.co.uk is an interesting site that might open your eyes.
Blueheart9
@Blueheart...why is it the 2 proposed sites are no longer available??? because the CPO have held up the progress of he plan ..SIMPLE AS
