Stat Attack!

Stat Attack!

Regulars to this site know I love to have a few statistics to hand following a weekend fixture.

Today, I have but two for you.

Firstly, when Ramires was fouled in the box, enabling Frank Lampard to step up and roll his spot-kick into the corner, that was the 8th penalty we`d been awarded this season, the most any side in the Premier League has been awarded.

Purely for fun, can anyone recall who has taken these eight spot kicks and how many have been scored or missed?

Secondly, and I think you`ll agree with me here. Although many fee that Ramires was man of the match, I reckon Petr Cech couldn`t have been too far behind with our giant keeper making 5 saves that enabled us to keep Arsenal at bay and allow us to claim a very welcome three points.

Also for fun, anyone out there like to suggest which was the best Cech moment from yesterday?

Him catching nearly every early corner was his best moment , or maybe his punch away at the death?

Hang on.... Didn't we miss some others earlier in the season? That would suggest more than 8 awarded. For some reason I remember Mata missing one but can't remember when!!

I'll love to see courtois battle it out with cech if we don't sell to barca, it will be worth it. Lamps will beat tambling's record if he doesn't get injured (God forbid), but he shouldn't do it at the expense of the team
