Now this is the acid test!
On the pitch we`ll all be hoping that Chelsea can over-turn a 2-0 first leg deficit whilst off the pitch I`ll be keeping my beady-eye on the comments being posted in order to reclaim this sites integrity - you`ve been warned!
The Liberty Stadium tonight will be a cauldron, there`ll be thousands of Welshmen believing that they`ll be heading off to Wembley Stadium, next month, to take on Bradford City in the Capital One Cup semi-final, can we silence them but at the same time probably incurring their wrath?
I`d like to think so, we have the pedigree but do we have the balls to go into the dragons den and drain their bellies of fire?
I guess we`ll see as soon as the action commences tonight, so why not join us from 19:00 hours onwards as we start the build up to the fixture, discuss the starting eleven picked by Rafa the Gaffer and then discuss the action as it unfolds before our very eyes.
Cometh the final whistle we`ll know if it is us or Swansea who`ll be taking on the perennial under-dogs that Bradford seem to have been in this competition.
On a personal level, I`ll also have an indication of how the membership have reacted t my warnings and how many might, if the mood takes me, be heading for the exit door - remember, you have been warned!

Meanwhile David Beckham's son; Brooklyn was on trials at cobham on tuesday along with other u-13 kids, with Beckham present and cheering for him. I asked an online man utd fan why the lad didnt choose to go to their academy and he said the lad had been reported several times in the past to be a chelsea fan and may have chosen the chelsea path. This is an interesting bit. I wonder if he can be as good/and can bend it like his dad....

If Ba starts and if Luiz pairs up with Ramires in the pivot,we will be lining up a strong XI already. 1 thing that troubles me is our lack of width in the absence of Moses....wish Marin can fill in well if he manages to get the nod. I want to appeal to Rafa the gaffer not to make unnecessary gambles in this game...hopefully it will be a blue night tonight.

For those worrying about if the match will go ahead: I'm about 10 miles from the stadium (where I work) and even though the snow has been hammering down since about 14:40 friends close to or at the stadium reckon apart from a bit of snow on the roads, things are clear enough to go ahead. Swansea Council out gritting the roads as I write this (17:45) and everything should be fine to go as long as they can get the fans into the stadium. Downside is that one of the major roads into Swansea has a breakdown which has caused an hour long tail-back. Colleagues who left at 16:20 have only just cleared the breakdown which normally takes 2 mins drive!!! Crazy night. One work-mate has actually just left on foot to WALK halfway to the stadium!

Just wishful thinking on my part but i would love to see us playing BA and Torres both upfront with Mata behind. I have a gut feelong that these two can run havoc against any opposition. Totally contrasting styles and will be a night mare to mark them both. The best part is that they both like to also create for others. But i dont think Rafa will ever take such a chance. I am not sure if many at VC will even agree with me, but i guess, this is how you can free up Torres and bring him back to life. Just a thought.

I'd be happy for Torres and Ba upfront, but it means you have to sacrifice someone else on the pitch. Mata, Hazard and Ramires HAVE to play. Swansea have a strong midfield on the counter ro Ramires' pace is much needed and for this game you must play Hazard and Mata for their creativity. That leaves either Lampard or Oscar (from the likely starting XI) who could be dropped out. I think Lampard will play so that means no Oscar. That leaves us with quite a narrow line up and Swansea defend well through the middle (no so much out wide). Davies is their weak link and I think we need someone on him at all times (Where Oscar/Mata/Hazard can do some serious damage). For me it's Cech, Ivan, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Rammy, Lamps, Mata, Hazard, Oscar and Ba. That would at least bring a smile to my face before the nerves set in....

@Chelsea-fan...nice tots..really nice...but I honestly dont think this is the match to try it out for the first time...maybe FA cup match this weekend against an oppsition from the much more lower league will be a better time to try...we have to go all out and try to win this...'ll start Ba and sit torres...if by an hour things still remain tight (i hope not)...'ll yank off one of the pivot players and bring in torres...I hope we can nick it...

The two man strike is worth a try if we can sacrifice 1 of the midfielders,maybe play Ramires to protect the back,he sure has the speed and aggressiveness to obstruct opponent's counter. With that we will play Mata,Hazard,Oscar in front of Rami with Oscar supporting him in his defensive duties. While Torres and Ba combine to wreck havoc on their defence. This line up will be the ideal response to the deficit.

I doubt Rafa will play a 2 man striker,Rafa is pretty strict and not really flexible in terms of formation change. Like I said on some other thread yesterday,today is not going to be about what formation or tactics we deploy,it has more to do with the character and winning mentality of the team. we should sacrifice oscar in the am position honestly..... 4-4-2 , Cech , Azpi , Cahill, Terry , Cole - Ramires , Lamps - Mata LAM , Hazard RAM - Ba RS , Torres LS , if we stick with the traditional 4-2-3-1 with ba upfront and fail to produce to 2 goals , we should switch to this formation and it would give mata and hazard more space in midfield , option either to cross it into 2 good headers of the ball. I pray for the best but prepared for the worst. Keep the blue flag flying high , let's give it our all team. Blue is the color.

Swansea was not the better team. In the first leg we should and deserved to win around 5-0 but we gave them 2 gifts and the linesman dissalowed Bas goal. In this 2nd leg we should have had a penalty in the first few minutes which Lampard would“ve scored, moments like these change games, we would have gone on to win the tie if we had that penalty but chris freak supports all the teams that play against us. Well the way I look at it is that Swansea deserved to go through. Hazard's sending off was justified but he was procedures not only by the chubby ball boy but also the fact that the ref was incapable of controlling the clock. The keeper was time wasting by up to 10 seconds at a time. Davies kicked the ball away without reprimand and we should have got a pen for Ba in the first half. Bad performance by the ref and our lads couldn't get it done against a very well organised defense. I'd say our best bet this season is to get third and let everything else go. Rafa can leave in May and we get Jose back in June. Depressingly night

Regardless of how slow the ball boy was to get off the ball, first of all Hazard shouldn't have been anywhere near the ball. Secondly he was bending down to pick the ball up and gets pushed over, of course he's going to fall over! In any other work place, if a kid gets pushed and kicked, they will be punished severely and will most likely loose their job. A disgrace.

Keyser- Yeah, someone on twitter claims to be the person that was kicked by Hazard and I'm in the wrong. Let's (for armaments sake) say that the ball boy was the person you describe. Was Hazard justified in kicking him? Not by any rule book I've seen. Last time I checked, kicking someone- or even at someone- wasn't a good way to help your team. It's a good way to get a card, but certainly not something you do to win a match. The discussion doesn't really need to go any further, that's how damn right I am.

It's a case of stimulus and response, the best thing to do at that moment is calm down....I won't blame him too much though, everyone of us have a tendency to react wrongly to stimulus... The FA will deal with that, the main problem is the fact that our Hazard-Oscar-Mata combo finds it difficult to create space.... Those always demanding for MAZACAR combo can at least see today that it makes us a bit choked up, this combo is what got RDM the sack... This is why I honestly hope we can get a new winger as we need width badly more than anything else.... Marin, to me is not ready yet for the rigors of EPL....

This is ridiculous, you can clearly see he went to get the ball from under him, this sort of thing happens all the time on the pitch, just because its a ball boy everyone is up in arms, the boy is 17 years old and I am sure he considers himself a man... It's not like he's a 12 year old kid, yes the "kick" was mistimed but everyone can see that his only intention was to get the game going again. He got the ball and unluckily followed through a bit, it seems the ball boy has been taking lessons from the Louis Suarez school of diving. As for the game itself, We as a club should be ashamed of that performance, no penetration from the pivot, no movement in the middle, nothing to note in attack, Swansea just sat back and soaked up the pressure, we seriously need to consider changing the formation, it doesn't work in the premiership when teams sit back and defend, we have absolutely no end product and are crying out for a central midfielder who can dictate games and unlock these tight defences, we also need an intelligent striker who can play on the last line and make runs to pull the defenders apart, we say that the three hold on to the ball too long but what do the strikers offer, generally there is nothing ever on for them to make that killer pass, we're too static in our play and not intelligent enough to counteract that. Roman needs a rethink now, Rafa is clueless, Mourinho would've made a change in the first half as soon as he saw something wasn't going to plan, were far to predictable and it's easy for teams to just sit back and hit our defence on the counter attack.

Just because loads of people defend your stance doesn't make you right. If it did the Earth would revolve around the sun, as opposed to the other way around. The official's job is to make sure that the players abide by clearly defined rules- Hazard didn't, and received the appropriate result. We have been talking about the holes since the beginning of the year and it has brought us nothing at all, this holes that we talk about have made some fans call other fans deluded and saying repitive things that are obvious, if u scroll up, u'll see where I wrote that by the 65th minute if we are not a goal up, that we should withdraw both hazard and mata to rest them because it is obvious that we won't break this team no matter how hard we try to, if mata wasn't playing well, rafa's job was to remove him, push oscar to the middle and refrain lamps surge forward, with marin and hazard giving us width, lamps should have been removed in the 70th minute for luiz and iva for terry, terry with his character might just be the tonic we need in a set piece situation to nod in a goal, rafa is very clueless to say the least and I am just dismayed that u guys haven't noticed all this while
