'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It`s a nice idea

But what about the personnel?

This is not about any player that Chelsea is linked to, but just considering an article I read here about Chelsea using an alternative 4-4-2 formation.

It`s a nice idea, it will give us another option and will make us unpredictable to teams before games but it will not be possible with the current type of players we have got, recently I have been reading some reports that Ba and Torres can't play together, well to some extent that's true, because none would be able to do what Aguero or Rooney does for City or United.

Aguero or Rooney plays behind the main striker and also falls so deep to assist the midfield adding both strength and number to both attack and midfield. To some extent the only player that could do that for Chelsea is maybe Hazard, but I still don't believe he will be so efficient as a supporting striker in a 4-4-2 formation!

If Rafa Benitez has the intention of using a 4-4-2 formation, the only possible option is getting a striker like Jovetic that could play behind the striker, on the wings or as a false 9, players like Jovetic are so efficient playing behind the main striker in a 4-4-2 formation, Taison or Aspas would have been a good buy, but they look beyond our reach.

It`s a great idea though but I would love to see what Chelsea are up to for the remainder of this transfer window.

this should actually be a post under the original article not an article on its own...'ll simply jog on!

Why attack the writer?

@FV...in all honesty, I aint attacking the writer in any way..@hazard has written some really nice stuff in the past...but this particular one is more suited as a comment or post under the original article...thats my opinion..apologies if ts seen as an attack...its more like an observation!
layorh12
@layorh, I get ur point bro, but I think hazard11 also made some valid points, but I concur that he ought to raise his observations in the article itself, free world though

The one thing i can single out from this article is the recommendation of Jovetic as the ideal fwd for the mentioned system, which is why i agree that this write up should have been a comment under the referred article. @Hazard11,i noticed your area of interest is PLAYER TRANSFER & WINDOW SHOPPING. Anyways,i admit that Jovetic will be great for us in that formation, even in any system and under any manager. Wonder why we are leaving him for the gooners.

I am going to throw a curved ball into this thread. Why not pair Lamps up front with Ba in a 4-4-2. It gets him out of the pivot and he can play the Rooney role whilst putting him in the front of goal which is where he wants to be right now. Only issue is if Luiz is now injured with his calf, we are down to one for 'pivot' players until Mikel gets back.

Having said that, you only need one holding in a 442 formation, Ramires needs to take on the Makalele role, which with his mobility is possible.

I like the Idea
