Nobody knows what chelsea is up to at the moment...or maybe they wont be up to anything...fingers crossed....they say Paulinho is a very good player..I dint see that during CWC wheere I tot he was pretty ordinary...although CWC is probably not enough to form an opinion...if our scouts thinks he is good enough..then we should grab him. Actually any aboove average CDM will do now so long the price is in tandem with the percieved value...

Watched him against us aswell- no world class moments as such but he kept their passing game ticking over nicely - he formed alot of triangled for passing and that seemed to create space for their forwards and keep possesion, and decent defensively, a good option i think

diame , mulumbu , tiote are already playing in the premier league .. they may not be classy but they are good at their job

Paulinhio will be an absolute waste of money. He was really rather ordinary and unimpressive in the entire CWC. Go for quality rather than just the fact that the fellow is brazilian. 15 mill for a player with no european or BPL experience..i sincerely hope not. Furthermore how many caps has this fellow got for the Selecao recently? If Roman wants a brazilian DM he should get Shaktars Fernandinhio. I would prefer Fellaini as the top choice and other options including Wanyama, Etienne Capoue and maybe even Benat.

I thought this ship,sorry,boat(cos isnt big enough) sailed long ago,i wouldnt have him for 10mil either. Btw,are we still interested in getting him? I hope not,cos didnt see him do anything that warrants our attention when we played against them. Unless he had a bad game that day.

He was the one who schooled David Luiz in the CWC, he went behind Luiz and made the killer pass from which they eventually scored. He can score from distance and is not a light weight, cheaper than Fellaini & Benat. Good defensive midfielder (for the Pivot) who can pass FORWARD and score GOALS (not like a certain Mikel, I am not saying Mikel is a bad player or something). Personally, I would have BENAT as Spanish team are grooming him as Xabi Alonso replacement.

Why do we need yet another midfield player with no strength, height or power, who cant tackle. It is becoming a joke. For christ sake when are our club going to purchase what we actually need. Bloody Joey Barton would be a better purchase than him.

Newcastle have Tiote yet they still go out and buy sissoko! We have .......... And have so far bought...........Chelsea seriously need to sort this out. Why we let played go in the summer and didnt replace them and then even before they left we already knew we needed a CM destroyer but STILL the club decides not to bring one in? Capoue,Wanyama,gundongan,fellaini or fernandinho! Any of them will walk straight into our midfield and make it there own! I guess our director of football is just a cu** and all our scouts are just totall bell end! How can every single CFC fan and well anyone else in football see we lack a CM destroyer but the club can't? Plonkers.

Is he a DM? We need a playmaker. I thought Oscar was supposed to be one when he signed. But these days you find him on the wings.

Seems we want to buy up all the brazilians,we can as well go sign hurelho gomes and alfonso alves..rubbish..if what i saw in the CWC is anything to go by then paulinho should really jog on and we move on to greater things..he was pretty ordinary,if we must add to the midfield then fellaini is my top choice...i just hope the board know what they are doin

I cannot understand how our scouts/board overlooked Moussa Cissoko, He is the perfect midfielder we need. He has got everything required to be a tremendous central midfielder. He is like a younger yaya toure, but quicker.

It is one of the most important positions in the team and we have someone who cant pass more than 10 yards,move out of a ten yard radius or cover adequately in more than half our games (he did hit the post for nigeria though, getting close to scoring, but that was a penalty) and we have someone who is out for the season. Now with Luiz injured we have 0 players in that position. We need someone on loan now, for six months. Our season depends on it. If Luiz is out for more than 2 weeks we defintely need a DM. Is Paulinho it? I dont know. Fernandinho is a better option. Rare breed of player who controls tempo as well as makes tackles, which is what Paulinho is rated as. I like what I see of benat and if we are serious about letting lampard go then we could look at him. But we will have a new manager in the summer and it will be up to him

Mia, weren't you the one complaining about Mikel leaving his DM position and joining the attack? We know as well that he does pass more than 10 yards in any direction. Mysteriously, you fail to "critique" the players who have actually been playing in the pivot since late November.

Fellaini is awful in DM/CM. We don't need a muscle man. We need someone with finesse and swagger on the ball. A Pirlo type of player. Not a battler because Ramires and Mikel can do that. Someone like Gundogan would be perfect.

Etienne capoue would be an excellent signing- holds his position superbly, fast, tall, great tackler, wouldnt be too expensive
For me though another player we desperately need is benat (for those who havnt seen already: youtube- "benat etxebarria-the playmaker" shows you whata great player he is, a decent tackler but there are some queries as to whether strong enough for dm in the premier league

Fernandinho would be far better than paulinho. Having watched both, fernandinho is certainly faster, and a more better player and with willian in the market we can have two players perfectly tuned to each other inthe team. Willían to play as a winge,fernandihno as dm then if we can get benat in the DLP role we are sorted for the rest Of the sesaon untíl our loanees come back. another option Would be fellaini For hos versatility or diame from westham. Diame offers a combination Of mikels ball holding skkills, strenght and the Energy Of ramires.be mightlook a poor choice, but i am convinced tht in a team Of world stars, he will be a revelation.
