Butland Given Permission to Talk to Chelsea
Speculation, regarding the possible signing of the young Birmingham keeper, Jack Butland continues to gather momentum.
Both the leading red-tops this country has to offer are inferring that Chelsea have been given permission to speak to the 19 year-old keeper about personal terms wit Birmingham City having accepted our bid, said to be somewhere between £3 million and £4 million.
It`s inferred that Butland is seen as the long term successor to Petr Cech, possibly also suggesting that our young Belgian keeper, Thibaut Courtois, out on loan at Atletico Madrid, might be bound for elsewhere.
The sudden movement in securing the deal is given foundation by Butland`s agent, Gary Mellor, who is quoted as having remarked,
"Chelsea have been given permission to speak to Jack. At the moment they are the only club who have registered a bid."
The only possible intrusion into a successful deal revolves around satisfying Butland that he`ll not just be back-up to Petr Cech whilst also holding off the interest expressed by other clubs.
And, in this strange transfer window world, later reports infer that the deal has hit a problem with it later being reported that his agent had inferred that Butland had declined talks with Chelsea, fearing that he wouldn`t get regular first team football.
But is that the end of it?
