Moses Stars for Nigeria

Those of you following the African Cup of Nations might have had more than a passing interest in the fixture between Nigeria and Ethiopia yesterday.

It ended 2-0 to Nigeria and saw the Nigerian side ease into the quarter-finals where they will play the Ivory Coast.

However, what would have really caught the eye was the performance of Victor Moses with the Chelsea player netting both goals from the penalty spot, incidentally from spot-kicks he`d won.

The first came after Moses had been fouled by an Ethiopian defender, Alula Girma, whilst the second game after the Ethiopian keeper, Sisay Bancha, had brought him down.

Discussing the win, Moses later tweeted,

"So proud. A great win for our country."

The quarter-final, against the Ivory Coast, promises to be an intriguing encounter.

cant believe zambia are out they were poor against BF. now someones going to say moses is a potential ST and his 2 goals in AFCON prove how good his finishing is...
Humza_96
@ Humza Victor is certainly not a No9 like errrr FT9 :)....but he's the only chelsea player to have scored in every single competition for chelsea this season...i think he's already paid back a lot of his 9M transfer fee and shockingly he's still only 21 years old....#lookingood4Moses
JohnnyOz
@humza,zambia were poor throughout the tourney.couldnt beat a 10man ethiopia, took a dubious penalty to draw with nigeria and the ultimate shambolic display vs BF..now the boys have been seperated from the men, lookin forward to the q/finals...
Ken4CFC
