Match Day Moments - Newcastle (a)

Match Day Moments - Newcastle (a)

This afternoon Chelsea will be at St James Park, taking on a Newcastle side that are probably as desperate as ourselves to get the win.

With Demba Ba set to return to the cub he left in early January, it`s fair to say we`ll get a hot reception from the Toon Army.

However, Chelsea will be boosted by the news that both Petr Cech and Juan Mata have been declared fit to play.

But who will Rafa Benitez select?

Who will make the starting eleven?

How will the match unfold?

Why not join us from 14:00 hours (UK time) when we`ll be on hand to discuss such matters and hopefully come 17:00 hours, we`ll all be smiling.

I just hope Benitez doesn't allow his nepotic spirit affect the team selection for today's match.BA has proven that he can bring back that fire power we've lacked ever since the DOYEN OF DESTRUCTION(Dider Drogba) left Us.Rafa has always gambled with matches where we needed all maximum points.Top four finish should be our PRIORITY.I just hope we keep our record of never losing @ St James' park since 2006 intact.Even a draw today is an UNACCEPTABLE result.NO CHELSEA NO FOOTBALL.

He already has 3 games mandate from me (Newcastle,Wigan, and Mancity) 7 points the least expected of him to deliver. Anything less then bye bye tubby.

if rafa start with ryan on wings and torres in cf....then please someone please hit him with booths and gumbooths....its simple logc ryan nd torres wont work in starting line up not now not ever..
02/02/2013 11:47:00
If tubby loses this, don't hesitate to pull the trigger, he is on his way to bring us down, it would be better if we remove the cancer surgically before it spreads.... It is either we get the whole points or a point, a lose is not acceptable considering the midweek howler
02/02/2013 11:47:00
I cant say am optimistic about victory today but i would be very positive today no matter what rafa throws up. He can play hilario upfront for all i care, i would just get behind the 11 chelsea players on the pitch today and win, lose or draw, take it with a pint of salt.

We need the 3 points n hope whoever will be in the field wearing cfc shirt will do his best for the club.
02/02/2013 12:03:00
Rafa should drop Ivanovic for Terry.
02/02/2013 12:06:00
Sorry i cant speak french, may be i cld be playing for newcastle today.

Was Chalobah sent back out on loan?...anyone have any info on him.. I'm very glad we have Yossi available and Mata as well. We are clearly missing Mikel and Moses. Hazard will be very fresh after his ban so we just need to concentrate in this game and close it out if we can. This blaming of Rafa for the performance of SEASONED players who are supposed European champions is really poor and sad. The players must take responsibility for what happens on the field. The manager is the one in charge but the players do the actual work....this current bunch are not even playing like average footballers. Hoping for a win....Terry will not be able to manage vs Cisse for the entire match (maybe in the closing minutes) and the dude in # 8 shirt offers nothing...but will most likely feature. Hoping Rafa puts outs a group who want to win
02/02/2013 13:12:00
next year newcastle will be playing in both in french league as well as pl...they are now eligeble by having exceding the home quota system of french player..
02/02/2013 13:17:00
Chalobah was sent back on loan to Watford, and according to one of my mates who's a season ticket holder he is excelling in the Championship and very consistent. You complain about Lampard, but w would you like to see instead may I ask?

QPR donating £100,000pw to chris samba.DB donating his salary to charity in france

@hand2bag we've had enough of the lampard bashing. The guy is 34 and has had to play to play consistently because of the lack of depth but you still bash him when he doesnt perform. For *****'s sake he is a chelsea legend so please treat him with the respect he deserves. He played well and even scored a good goal last time out but you didnt praise him but you rather focus on what he didnt do... Shame on you
02/02/2013 13:39:00
If he'll play Invanovic and Torres, I'll personally get down on that pitch and kick them out!
02/02/2013 13:40:00
Thanks Calculated. VERY good news on a youngster I like a lot. We regard to the dude in the # 8 shirt.....any player who will play his position and work for the team to win. We have a very lean selection right now. Clifford that was just released could have helped, Mikel any day of the week, Nathan and Josh for next season. Right now..Yossi would do a job for me.... a cast away who always gives his best. The board + RDM decided to get rid some players to ensure his playing time and it has blown up in their face.
02/02/2013 13:48:00
just when i thought we got rid of the frustrating selection of mikel, rafa seems to have come up with the bert is a left winger theory, gees! am finally starting to doubt him after he somewhat started getting me on board.

The scary thing for me is that even if Rafa picks an ideal team, New Castle are quite capable of beating us in our current form. Obviously Ba must absolutely start in this game. I just pray that Cisse does not pick this game to have another set of incredible goals like he did last year at Stamford Bridge.
02/02/2013 14:09:00
0 my knowledge I have only bashed one player openly, Malouda when he changed from team player to goal scorer. The dude in the # 8 shirt is part of Chelsea history without question but he has overstayed his time...loosing the "legend" tag in my book. His continued fight for relevance on and off the field is poor and selfish. He wants to take penalties, corners, free kicks...wants to be captain, give instructions while being unable to play the role he is payed to play...midfielder. I don't care if he scores because that's not his job, when he needed to be a quality midfielder which the team needs he is unable to. I only say what a few people on this site like FV and MQ are also willing to say. Stop the blind adoration and offer constructive criticism.
