Seeking a Top Two Finish?

Seeking a Top Two Finish?

Despite our recent form and our failure to hang onto a lead, our interim gaffer reckons we can still finish in the top two.

Speaking ahead of the difficult looking trip to Newcastle this afternoon, Rafa has commented,

"We never play to win in the top four, we play to win every game."

"We will try for the top two or higher."

"If you are the manager and say you cannot guarantee the top four, the players will think, 'He has no confidence in us`. But I have confidence that we can do it."

"We are a good team with good players and we have good players coming back."

Is Rafa being realistic or living in dreamland?

It is good to have believe in his players, but it is not only about having confidence in the players alone, he should put his money where his mouth is, I just hope we get the three points at stake

"If you are the manager and say you cannot guarantee the top four, the players will think, 'He has no confidence in us, The players know that im useless and somewhat dumb and idiot but what can i do for 2 year i was in dubai doing nothing just serving dinner & lunch for my sheikhs friends they tortured me day & night by calling Tellytubbies and then i got a call frm god i.e Roman and the rest you know it . But I have confidence that we can do it...most probably in my dream ." rafa real quote

Hahaha @ sholks... With what i saw at the madjesky, i think the players have lost confidence in both themselves and Rafa the Gafa. I just want next season here already.

am just asking 4 how long can players of cfc loose confidence with a manager.this happens to chelsea manager every season.no club u will here such crap.even mancity egoistic players back mancini despite bench warming.the question is !are cfc players special mouning about managers all they know.we need a discplinery mng to tell players to play on merit not experience.this egos will cost us forever.

atleast rafa is dreaming of a top 2 finish which i see as a welcome development unlike wenger who sees the 4th position as a trophy. My question then is Would you rather have a manager who is dreaming of a top 2 finish or the one who sees the 4th position as a trophy? Even though we know rafa is clueless.

Nice talk Rafa but we all know it will take way more than talk to even get a top 4 finish. Anyone with any sense of realism knows we are battling for positions 3 or 4 at worst. We are not winning the BPL..ManU already has that settled which is a deep insult to teams like us and city that we could not even keep this thing competitive till the lsast few weeks of the season. We are also not catching City..not with the schedule of game we have left, with Rafa in charge and getting no reinforcements in the transfer window.
