Cech Injury Scare

Are our worst fears about to be realized?

It transpires that Petr Cech has withdrawn from the Czech squad to take on Turkey this week.

Cech suffered a broken little finger, during the 3-2 reverse at Newcastle.

Although there are no indications as to how long he is expected to be out, this is not the sort of news we were hoping for amidst our current run of poor form.

Strange old league and strange old results this season. Apart from the top team, we are all dodgy!
The Fear
There was a report that cech will have to undergoe surgery in summer because of a shoulder injury that he is carrying and therefore won't partake in any of czech's friendly until summer, maybe its just an excuse for him not to play in czech's friendly and even if the finger injury is true then it wouldn't be too serious

And we didn't get Butland or any other credible back up for. 31 days. Sometimes I wonder if Rafa is been set up to specifically fail. This Board is just criminally inept. Never seen such a hopeless bunch in my life

I've seen wide receivers in the NFL play with broken fingers. Cech will be ok, and I'd rather him starting with nine fingers than Turbull with twenty!
RadioactiveD
Well we can neva rely on turnbull for those exciting saves, cech at his worst days is way better than turnbull on his best day, can the bad news get any worse?
Desmondadonis
I agree entirely RadioD..I also agree with you Dwonder. Honestly my disdain for our so called board should just be left at that..BTW its not just Rafa who was set up to fail..RDM was similarly set up to fail. One could even argue that Rafa has had it better as he has an option to El Nino in Ba while RDMs only option was an oft injured Danny who was being frozen out of the side because he had refused to sign the contract extension he had been offered. I cannot wait for summer to come to see what the Amigos and Roman come up with next as regards the next manager in the ongoing saga of managers at Chelsea FC.

At this rate with cech set for full servicing in the summer...his shoulder majorly, I dont see us loaning Courtoius anywhere as by that time Turn-bull and Hilario's contracts will have been up....the summer will be a hell of an interesting time...bring it on would ya?...and I fully support @Radio and @GabeU ..still loving chelsea!
layorh12
I know about the agreement with czech republic but i just hope petr is ok,if he is not, wrap that finger, keep him in goal he would do a better job than ross,oh God!cant imagine turnbull in goal against city
Ken4CFC
Why was Courtois bought again ?

Will it surprise anyone if all we do throughout summer is sign just one or two new players? We released Drogba, Kalou, Anelka, Malouda, Meireles, Essien and signed just Oscar, Hazard and Moses. The only person likely to leave this summer is Frank, so what is the likelihood we will sign more than 1 or 2 new players... For over 3 years now, we've been saying the same thing "looking forward to summer; summer can't come soon enough" but when the summer comes and passes, we start looking forward to yet another one... I feel a lot of fans might get disappointed in summer because I see a lot of fans are expecting a massive influx of players in summer which may not happen.. I think we should begin to reduce our expectations for transfer windows.....
Latunvic
no latunvic. we signed plenty in summer. Marin, KDB, Lukaku, Courtious, and we have plenty on loan, PVA, Omeruo, Kakuta Josh etc. I don't think we need a major overhaul in the summer. with Cech going for a full complete servicing (thanks layorh), i think it will be wise to bring back Courtious as full keeper with Cech on the back up. with reports this morning of Atletico offering our keeper a long term deal, we should take him back from their greedy hands before he changes his mind. We are sitting pretty defensivewise. with Omeruo impressing at AFCON, Azpi proving to be an astute signing, and Wallace joining I believe we should make a play for Luke Shaw, buy him and loan him back to Southampton for the season and give bertrand one last chance to prove himself in the LB position. If he can't, recall PVA in January, Sell Betrand and bring in Luke Shaw the next summer after his loan. With our MF options, i think we should sell Romeu, and Mikel and bring in a solid all action B2B players in the mood of Diame and bring back Josh and KDB to replace them. Lampard may or may not be offer a new contract so it is imperative we bring back this guys. Lukaku should be brought back to the bridge and Torres sold and given as a gift to someone in Spain ( likely Malaga for Isco) and a smaller technical striker should be bought to include Demba Ba and Lukaku. A small size striker that be elusive yet deadly someone like David Villa or Shane Long will be my take.

We should at least try Hilario between the sticks if Cech is out injured. Hilario is a more composed keeper and less prone to mistakes than Turnbull. Seeing turnbull is the post gives me the jitters and makes our defenders less confident. JESUS CHRIST... to see my club being reduced to this is particularly galling for me. We did not make obvious reinforcements even with the waiter asking for more bodies. Demba Ba and Cech injured ( most likely unavailable against wigan, Torres limping ( not that i see him as anything quality, just that half bread is better than none) over 30 players on loan, and we have less than 19 senior players for a 25 man senior roster........ Nigerian or not.. iF Emenalo is in charge of this debacle, he should be SACKED. and if i ever have the opportunity, i will say it to his face. For someone reputed to be highly intelligent, this is appalling.
