Luiz on Comeback Trail?

Luiz on Comeback Trail?

The friendly international between England and Brazil may see a comeback, from injury, for David Luiz.

Luiz has been out with a calf strain and the Brazil boss, Luis Felipe Scolari, will arrange for the defender to be given a fitness test ahead of the prestigious friendly.

However, he has promised that he will take no risks with the players` fitness which is good news as far as Chelsea supporters are concerned.

I miss him. Fair enough he costs goals from time to time but he plays with heart. Were not winning without him and nobody seems to be bothered. Be nice to have a player on that gives a toss. Even if he does cause the occassional howler lol

I agree with you Clingy..the guy can never be accused of not caring..i love his attitude and his passion. He is also one of the most complete footballers on our team. Hopefully the rough edges regarding his defensive prowess will be smoothed with more experience. I still feel he is way better as a CB than in the midfield where for me he is more of a CM than a DM. His versatility is clearly a strength.

True. I can see why people wanted him s bit further upfront for his flair. For me a good compromise woukd be as a RB. It would allow him to move up front when attacking but not crowd our midfield with more cms. We need muscle in the midfield. Not enough of a presence currently for my liking. Fond of iva and its early days on azi but would of prefered a Terry cahill partnership with cole and luiz on the flanks. Worth a punt anyway

I always thought we played some of our best attacking football under him. It was only when Clarkey left for West Ham that we became clueless defensively. Just shows how important Steve Clarke was for us. Our defence was never the same way after he left.

Luiz, good, bad, good, bad, cold, hot..... We just need a coach that would play him where he really fits and improve him there, perhaps mou or anyother man manager

the mikel-luiz pivot looked promising against monterrey but they were a weak team.

it would be good for the team to have him back. like others said, he plays with his heart and he should one day be the right man for the captaincy. even if i'm not sure what might be hsi best position, it is a great loss when he's out
