Benteke Exiting Villa?

Benteke Exiting Villa?

One of the revelations of the season so far, and one acquired at a bargain price, has been that of Christian Benteke.

Aston Villa`s scouting system certainly hit gold when they acquired the 22 year-old Belgian.

However, rumours being peddled by some news sources, indicate that Benteke, on the back of a Villa season many Villa fans would like to forget, has decided that he`ll be leaving Villa Park come the end of the season.

Naturally, a plethora of clubs have been mentioned as possible destinations with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City being named.

But, as we`ve all come to discover in the past, it wouldn`t be a decent transfer rumour if our very own Chelsea weren`t listed amongst the list of possible destinations and that is the case here as well.

So what`s the verdict?

Could Benteke be a decent buy or is he too similar in style to a certain Romelu Lukaku?

Would be a great buy for you guys, the new Drogba given time maybe, perhaps would benefit from another season with us provided we stay up. Buy him for 50 mil and loan back to us for a season!!!

£50m?..... are you a moron or something? We already have 2 similar players in Ba and Lukaku. We need a different type of striker, like a cavani.

We absolutely don't need benteke, he is not as good as ba and I don't see him better than lukaku in 2-3 years time after he must have been polished, so no thank u, what we need is a predatory striker that can shoot from distance and can dribble, a striker with technical ability, not necessarily powerful, someone like schurlle who have impressed me this season, or perhaps facundo farreyra.

@aston....take torres for free...and that also for a permanent deal...and we will pay 5 million as compensation for making you play in league 1...bcoz with him you will go there only...

I agree with most of the guys esp Shlok27. we can give you Torres + 5million and you can still keep Benteke...good, hungry player though. I think Lukaku in a yr will be much better

Benteke is not good enough for Chelsea. He looks so clumsy on the ball. He's a hit a hope kind of player.

Sturridge is way better than Benteke but look where he went.

May have made sense before Ba acquisition. But wanted now,as a matter of fact,we need a player that can fill in the 'expected' Torres level and not just another forward.

I would swap Benteke for Torres/Lukaku anytime. IMO he is a more to offer than Lukaku and yes the stats don't lie he has scored more goals than Lukaku and in a ****** Aston Villa team. I would pay 16m for him now. Benteke can hold the ball up/win headers.

Untill Lukaku play 30 matches for chelsea, thinking of buying a player similar to him is a IDIOTIC....We need to buy a striker who can replace Torres (Highly Technical, Can win headers, can outrun defenders, but should take the chances he gets)
