I went through our line up in recent times and what surprised me the most was our lack of change in formations for different opponents.
First of all I would like to cast our minds back to last season, as we changed our formation towards the end of the season, when Mata was the main man and we had defensive wingers and we were quite defensive which made the formation perfect for that period.
But right now our match against Reading, why could we not use 4-3-3 because at that point the only person that formation suited was Mata as Ramires, Oscar, Lampard, Bertrand were not playing their original roles, because we could have played a midfield 3 of Oscar-Ramires-Lampard and a top 3 of Ba, Mata and Torres ( strikers interchange) or 4-3-1-2.
But now Hazard will be back, Luiz and hopefully Cech and by next week we would have a full squad finally. It will be interesting to see if Rafa would try new things and it is well known that our priority is top 4, so it will be interesting to see if the likes of Mata, Lampard, Ashley Cole, (they have played quite a lot recently) will be rested and let Bertrand and a few others get game time or he goes ahead to win the Europa League and try and win the FA Cup.
Our next two fixtures will go a long way to see how the season goes, also if you take a look at our fixtures we have literally played almost all small teams left, we have a lot of tough games coming up, I hope our form will be excellent by the time that period comes.
