Yet More Willian Talk

Yet More Willian Talk

Are we really crazy enough to splurge £35 million on this guy?

Even more so when if, as the tabloid press are inferring, we let him slip through our fingers and join Anzi Makhachkala in the transfer window!

Well one Sunday rag seems to think so, believing that Chelsea will broker a deal to bring the Brazilian, who isn`t a regular in the Brazilian side, to Stamford Bridge, merely because Roman Abramovich is hooked on bringing him to SW6.

Now normally I`d dismiss this as idle gossip but when it comes to my beloved Chelsea, I`m not certain about many things anymore!

sounds like drivel to me..the willain boat has already sailed... this is just lazy tabloid journalism!
10/02/2013 12:34:00
oh here's a strategy we bid €20M for him and if the doesnt work, we wait for another club to buy him at double our valuation and then buy him off them 5 months later?? really? dont think so..
10/02/2013 12:37:00
Its balderdash, why bid 35m for him? If we want him we would have gotten him, but just like hulk he have gone into obscurity, now I don't see him making the team in 2014 except if anzhi qualifies for the UCL and give good account of themselves.
10/02/2013 13:14:00
I like him but i dont see the need for him as we have KDB and Piazon. What we need is a direct winger like Moses with pace & crazy driblling skills to provide width and tear defenders apart. Willian is not that type of player. James Rodriguez comes to mind. I want us to get Rodriguez before Sir Alex gets him and turn him to another CR7, even if it means sending Marin and Yossi the other way.
10/02/2013 13:27:00
@samex, I won't doubt the quality of james rodriguez, but doing business with porto? For a young player in the mould of james rodriguez? Porto will have almost 50m in his release clause, those thieving coyotes!! Besides we need to turn hazard/moses into ronaldo type of players before we can buy and turn this lad into one, how many world class players have we developed in the last 5 years?
10/02/2013 14:04:00
Lazy journalism at its best!!!....where is the 'dislike' button?
10/02/2013 15:02:00
@ Desmondadonis. U are spot on with Porto's description. Will rather trade with the devil for some of his demons b4 seating on a table with d prsdnt of porto.
10/02/2013 15:06:00
@desmond Hazard and Moses can not do it alone all season. Btw, do you know we agreed a pre-contract for Lazar and completed the signing of Cuevas.
10/02/2013 19:47:00
Signing Cuevas means we have lost hope in Josh.
10/02/2013 19:50:00
0 on description of Porto and Pinto Da Costa. Anyway this whole willian stuff has to be lazy journalism at its worst. Even our board guys are simply not that inept. Who does this..try to buy from Anzhi after they have spent a fortune on a badly over valued thanks...that boat has long sailed..just like the Hulk one.
11/02/2013 02:08:00
Crazy people working for some Journals here...clearly mocking Roman as a businessman....Just leave these news aside....Heard that we have a pre-contract for Markovic...dont want us to spoil one persons future...Desperately need manager who will groom the talents we have and alsoo dont compromise our top 4 chances next year.
11/02/2013 05:26:00
Makes sense if you ask me. Take Hazard out and we have no "top" wingers available, we need that extra attacking impetus. Can't have Ramires play on the wings always, and definitely can't rely on Moses if we are to achieve something significant next season
11/02/2013 06:52:00
Our struggles this season with the players we have definitely necessitates we get "top" quality additions next season
11/02/2013 06:53:00
@mq,what are u smoking?? Willian for £35mil makes sense??..guess u are just jokin,so lets laugh it off.hahaha..
11/02/2013 07:04:00
rather than wasting 35 million for william... its bettter i would play malouda...william is not worth 15 million also...he s an average brazillian player who shaktar made us look the next big thing...he is just an average player just plain average..
11/02/2013 07:53:00
LoL my goodness KEN apologies I thought it was £25Mill LoL
11/02/2013 08:29:00
I get that £25Mill is a "stretch" but we do need more "depth" especially on the wingers, as these are the people that help either 1) to counter attack effectively like ManUre or 2) to help break down "bus parkers"....ManUre has proven over and over how successful they are because of wing-play (although this season it's all RVP) and we've seen our shortcomings from the wingers (take Hazard out and you've basically "killed" our width) so we do need a winger, a "starting" winger @ that (not "sub quality" like Moses)
11/02/2013 08:32:00
@mq,yea maybe we do need a winger because i can only count hazard and moses(marin not there yet)as our only reliable wingers..a winger of willian's quality would do but only if the price is right(£19m 4 me),or better still we look inward,we have a KDB who is equally as fantastic on the wing as he is in the middle...but on a 2nd thought,i dont think we should be obsessed with wingers because manure do,we should bring them in only to offer us options ala plan A,B or C..the difference between us and manure is not wingers but strikers(RVP has made the difference)..
11/02/2013 09:11:00
And hey!moses is not a 'sub quality' winger,he is a "fine quality" winger..he doesnt have to be a brazilian and bought £45m for u to acknowledge the lad is a great player in the making..did u watch any Nigeria game at the afcon??
11/02/2013 09:20:00
while I agree KEN Man$hitty have strikers but are "garbage" (if you consider the cost/benefit factor) so perhaps it's a mix of that too. Reason for wingers is they help create spaces by opening the width of the pitch, especially for strikers to take advantage of it.
