Teenage Starlet Set to Join!

According to some news sources our set-up is to be bolstered by the arrival of yet another teenage starlet.

These sources are implying that Chelsea have more-or-less done a deal for the seventeen year-old Chilean midfielder Cristian Cuevas.

The gossip suggests that his club O`Higgins are in advance negotiations with Chelsea and that the youngster will move to Stamford Bridge, in the summer, for a fee somewhere in the region of 4.3 million.

there is something special in SouthAmerican parents every kid born there is called WonderKid....
Theres one thing guaranteed! He will be loaned out !
we have also signed lazar markovic
Blue India
Totally right Shlok. Every kid gets a football or something round to kick about by age 3. By the time he's 10,he's a wonderkid of some
Yep, definitely going on loan to never return.
For 4.3 and for a 17-year old kid had better be superman...really, is this kid really good enough to ever challange for a 1st team spot or is the club in the business to speculate on players (buy low and sell high)? Furthermore, this kid is a LB right? 4.3 for a 17-year old LB? That Shaw kid from Southhampton is 17 and already plays in the EPL and he could be had for something near this??? I really don't know this kid's potential...but...this kid had better be a superstar for this kind of money at this age....
It would be nice if these guys played. According to sportski zurnal in Serbia we've got a pre contract agreement to sign lazar markovic for a steal at 7m. It would be worth our while to give these lads an opportunity. But that comes from having a structure and patience.
I dont know how to feel about this. We have 23-24 other players out on loan and this young guy and Markovic (if we have actually signed him too) will join that growing contingent. This reminds me of the KDB signing. I hope this poor kid does not regret this decision..for his career's sake. Without something that resembles stability in our managerial set up this is just a bad joke on the poor lad. and we will have no clue whether anything has really changed until at least this summer. Oh well....
Well we have to accept that prices nowadays are hugely inflated. However,we have better pay 4 million pounds for a player who could become the new Alexis Sanchez, then to buy the real one for over 30 mills. The guy definitely looks like a talent to me,as far as I can judge from a two-minute youtube video.Take a look at it by yourself:
The annoying thing is that the kids keep signing and when they get here and they are not played they scream bloody murder and say vile stuffs to the media about us just buying and buying!! We have been buying wonder kids for the past 5 years yet none of them have turned into a man, kakuta, ben sahar, sinclair, michael woods, bruma, macienne, kaby djalo, jon pirez, ulises davila, we have about 30 players that are either in our academy or out on loan that must be really confused now, yea wallace and lakovic now added, when marin find it hard to play, kdb as talented as he is can't even stay to make the bench, one thing we need now is perhaps a second chelsea team in the EPL (joking, though they won't relegate), what we need is a manager like viveash and another experienced manager that would only be interested in developing and honing their playing skills (marcelo lippi anyone?)
@simeone, marko marin was dubbed the german messi, but right now, he is not given the chance to show if he can be leo not to mention of being a messi, do u think all the stars I mentioned above were all rubbish? Or we did not give them needed time due to pressure from roman to suceed at all cost and deliver trophies? Nor do we have a coach that have the balls to play them and ignore the pressure. Miroslav stoch comes to mind.
Our board needs to tell us what this business of recruiting so many young boys means.others you fail to see its meaning from outside the management.
I dont know honestly what has Marin done wrong so far but for those awful 45 minutes @ Brentford. And you know why Tubby doesn't play him?Oh,yeah, because he is a clueless moron.Rotations?Gimme a break,we only need one rotation and it is Tubbby out of Chelsea for good.Otherwise I totally agree with you @Desmond...,we have turned into a graveyard for young talent ,but with the FFP regulations edging closer,we might well have to reconsider some points in our youth development policy.
I think he is a winger and yes he will be loaned out and shall never play for the first team, we shall buy him for 4.3m and then sell him for 1m. As long as he is loaned out to a good club and plays regularly we will not RUIN his career like we did to others like (Kakuta). Reserve footy is *****ee.>>>Josh: Now is not even got enough for Middlesbrough, they said he will be on the bench for a while.>>>Lukaku: West Brom will not like to have him on loan for another season.>>>Players on loan at Vitesse Arnhem: Please sell them to Vitesse as they will never play for Chelsea, only if we have to pay 20m for them then they will get a chance, Berty is only playing for Chelsea cause we don't have a good manager, once new manager comes in he will make sure Berty does not play any EPL games for us and shall sign decent replacements and yes he will not give PVA a chance.
As long as d money is available, keep buying
na me b chelsea
Will never play an extended role in the first team when he's good enough/of age , he'll move to another big club/or a decent club and make his name and then barcelona/spanish giants/PSG will buy him then we will regret are mistake , same will happen with feruz/lalkovic.
Marin was bought when we looked to be finishing 6th and not qualifying for the CL. If the board knew we would win the CL, I doubt they would have bought him. I agree it does feel somewhat pointless buying these 'kids', when we then go and spend in excess of 20 million for players to fill positions. It's unlikely you're going to sell them at a profit if they never play. It's not just Chelsea though. Look at Pogba with United.
Another davila ulises??..vittesse arnhem,zulte-waregem and ado den-haag should be makin adequate preparations for the imminent arrival of our wonderkid.
the chilean league is a mickey mouse league. didnt di santo come from there? a kid lik this can look very good in a place like that but is prob a lower half of PL player or the championship.. any achievement above that and i'll be very surprised indeed.
My optimistic sense tells me the club has a policy they are implementing (foresight thinking) which the hindsight "experts" won't understand now but with time they'll be the loudest in announcing the club Management as genius (except for that Marin deal, since day 1 I did say if you are quoted 6.5Mil for a "Messi" who's 23 years old it's fools gold)
Keeping my fingers crossed about this SIMEON said, rather we spend 4Mil and be lucky to gain (or sell him for 2Mil or something) than wait 3 years to be quoted 30Mil.
for those clamoring that we give the youth game time and yet come crying that oldies like Lamps should be retained suggests to me that indeed, hindsight > foresight
I read it was ard 2.2m, not 4.3m...anyway, I hope the kid is really good for that value. Somehow, I trust the scouting instinct of Emenalo...If he is involved in this deal, I trust his judgement. Luke Shaw just now signed a new deal with S'ton..No way, he will be sold for this cost...In another 2 years, he will be worth 15m-20m...with home grown status...thats what S'tom is waiting for.
I'm more impressed with markovic, has that messi kind of dribble. Not sure on cuevas. And 4.3 million is a lot.

FFP was introduced purely to stop clubs like Chelsea and ManCity, from gate crashing the cosy little party that other major clubs had been enjoying for years. The established G14 clubs, that refused Chelsea entry. How long before the same greedy clubs who hate our existense since Roman arrived, demand a limit on the players that can be put out on loan ?
Just tired of all these. Am sure things must change on how we do all these business. Let us accomodate most of the players that are 19 and above or sell them off to get the space for new ones. I cannot imagine that chelsea have 22 and more players out on loan and most of them nobody knows how they are doing and nobody tells us what the plans are to accomodate them in the team
Not too sure about this Cuevas kid as he doesnt look that special to me...Lazar Markovic on the other hand - now he looks like he's going to be some player and i hope we can round up that one asap.
