Benitez Defends That Luiz Moment!
There`s a strange inference in one of our tabloid papers this morning!
It states that David Luiz is set to keep his place, in the starting eleven, despite his challenge on Jake Reeves in the dying minutes of the FA Cup replay, against Brentford, on Sunday.
Now at the time I criticised Luiz for the challenge and was roundly castigated by some Vital Chelsea members.
However, it seems that Rafa Benitez thought the challenge, despite the inference of Ian Wright in the punditry box, was much ado about nothing, with Rafa commenting about it, prior to the Sparta Prague fixture tonight,
"I can see hundreds of tackles in the league maybe more dangerous."
"I won`t say it wasn`t bad. It wasn`t the best, but also look at the size of the other player. If he was bigger it would be totally different."
I guess the best thing to come out of it was that the player recovered quickly, Luiz`s actions were seen by the referee and now we can all move on, but no repeat please David!
