Mourinho WILL Return to Chelsea

Jose Mourinho is returning to take charge of Chelsea at the end of the season, according to a certain Ruud Gullit.

And Gullit is convinced that regardless of whatever Benitez achieves this year, he will certainly be replaced by Real Madrid boss Mourinho, who left Chelsea in 2007 after ending our 50-year wait for a domestic title.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: 'Rafa Benitez's main objective this season is to qualify for the Champions League and then to make way for Jose Mourinho. Everyone knows this.

'I have a feeling that he (Mourinho) was meant to come back after the Champions League final but then when Chelsea won it I think he thought better of it. It`s no coincidence that right after the final he signed a new contract with Real Madrid.'

Who knows what's happening behind the scenes, but only time will tell.

God help us...CFC needs a strong manager like Jose M to control football operations otherwise Chelsea will remain a drifting ship out at sea lacking direction and leadership.
lamarochs
Rudd is speculating here. I doubt he has any insider info on this but as a former manager of our club his speculations certainly carry some weight. In the final analysis there are very few people who are in Roman's close circle of friends who know what is going on now regarding our search for a new manager and as the Pep experience should have taught everyone, Roman offering the job is one thing...the person he is offering it to accepting is another thing altogether. I will just wait and see what transpires in the summer but i will say if Jose returns i for one will be thoroughly elated not only because of the stature of the man but because his returning will mean Roman will have learnt some hard lessons Only a change in the way Roman does things will ever see Jose return to chelsea..he wont come back to be made a fool of a second time.
GabeU
You're right about THAT, GabeU! Roman will have to provide Mourinho with a multi-year ironclad contract, assurances witnessed by a host of lawyers and tons of moola. In the end Roman can still fire him if he doesn't care about losing his money. Mourinho will still be at Roman's mercy if Mourinho isn't bringing home the bacon. And that CAN happen. He has antagonized his own players at Real with negative comments about them to the media (he did some of that here before he left). I would hope, too, that he let's players play to their strengths and not impose a stifling defensive style.
Squig
JM coming back is still a long shot imo. However, if he does in fact part ways with Real Madrid that would mean that he was never at a club for more then 3 yrs! His 3rd usually is when trouble starts... Thats happend at CFC and same case at Madrid. If and its still a big IF he does come back, how long can he last???? 3 yrs again??? and then we're back to square one!
Tiraspol
mou will never come back.he will try other leagues around europe then usa or asia.Roman will never bring someone like mou who is funs friendly like rdm.Rafa is to clear the deck for pellegrini,by removing troublemakers.
mzee69
Mourinho needs no introduction, most people that are saying they don't want him here would be the first to quake like cowards if he gets city's job, with mou and fergie as contenders, we know that to win the EPL would be harder than climbing the himalayan mountains, but mou brings the excitement of trophies and bragging rights over rival fans and he is the manager to make us be in the bayern, barca, juve,AC and man utd league managerial wise, I won't say I am oblivious to his antics, but I believe that if the club wants to move forward they need to sit mou down in a round table and discuss their priorities before the contract papers are drawn, it is noted that roman is building a chelsea project which involves having talented youngsters that can dominate the world of football, all they need is that coach with a winning mentality, not a wimp, I for one would be happy if roman and the board ask mou to make do with the squad we have now including the loanees, and perhaps give him 25m to sign one more needed player. The brand of football mou is playing with real is okay for a club like ours as it is attacking football and can be perfected with the embarassment of stars that we have in our squad, we can leave the duty of youth development to the duo of adi viveash and dermut drummy. In 3 years his contract might be reviewed and perhaps a manager in the mould of klopp, laudrup, conte, clarke or simeone would be available by then if we need to change. But like ballotelli settling in meekly in milan, mou can settle in just fine with us without any hitch, the only coach that we can get if we don't want mou should be a coach that is tactically better than him :-)
Desmondadonis
@Desmond you are just mean!.....25m for one player is mean...I think we need to buy two players outrightly even if we are integrating our young players...(a striker (I am asuming torres will leave by some miracle) and a deep lying play maker)...then we can start integrating youth...and we'll be damn strong under mou...trust me!
layorh12
@layorh, I said so bcos I want mou to prove the nay sayers wrong about him being a spendrift, if we have him as our coach and aske him not to sign anay player and make do with the squad we have now and our loanees, do u think it would be too much for mou to handle?
Desmondadonis
I'm afraid Gullit is only speculating. That doesn't mean that he's wrong, but it doesn't mean we can take Mou's return for granted either. There are still several stumbling blocks. The biggest is probably that RA will have to reduce his involvement in football matters, because Mourinho does not tolerate interference. Moreover, Mourinho will certainly ask for a solid amount of money, because he will kick out Torres instantly and demand 1-2 more physical attacking players to suit his style of play. And last but not least someone will have to pay 20 millions to terminate his contract at Madrid.
ElMagicoNino
If we have him as our coach and ask him not to sign any player* but should make do with cech, courtois, blackman, cole, betrand,PVA,cuevas, terry, kalas, cahill, omeruo, luiz, iva, wallace, todd kane, cesar, mikel, romeu, rammy,Ake,oscar, mata, hazard, marin,KDB,moses, ronan*,BA,Lukaku,(son or gomez for the 25m) my friend, can mou carve out a winning team out of this elites?
Desmondadonis
Nooooooooooooo to Mourinho. Don't want him to come back here to build another group of dressing room warlords like he does in his time here years ago. We need a coach who can manage with whatsoever fund he is given considering the financial fair play rules. Mourinho will never succeed at any high profile league/club in the world without heavy transfer budget. Its high time we do things the right way. I 'd go for either of the three coaches rumoured to have been shortlisted by Roman.
munich Glory
@desmond, remember you are talking about JOSE MOURINHO. He will never sign any contract that specify he won't be allowed to add to the squad and this isn't applicable to Mourinho alone but all club coaches in the world except Wenger. I totally disagree with you on this because it won't happen.
munich Glory
@Desmond...the answer is yes without a doubt in my mind...Mourinho is that good...but'll rather we sign two players...just to be sure..loool
layorh12
i would take Jose Mourinho back in a heart beat. For those who ar saying they don't want him back who do they want? Pellegrini? whats he won, what does he bring? Conti? done good at Juve but just look at AVB regarding that,Conte,Simeone and Laudrup would be in my opinion big gambles that could work but knowing roman and the club would fail spectacularly. Jurgen Klopp? first he doesn't want to come to an unstable club, two he has assembled a top little team in Germany who could now lift the champions league, and 3 next season he has to pit his wits against pep guardiola! motes? well i don't think many fancy him anyway but people will just point to him not winning nothing at Everton and has been in a few relegation battles with them in his time also! That leads us to Jose Mourinho! yes he brings with him some serious baggage, but the one thing he also brings with him is a guarantee of trophies and with that he will normally always win the league he is in or will definitely qualify for the champions league! at the moment there is a huge possibility that we wont make the top 4 if we lose today against man city. If there was a poll right now i would take mourinho ahead of anyone else. People talking about building a team full of dressing room warlords,so these people hate lamps, terry, drogba, essien, cole, cech, makalelele, carvalho, robben and duff? these were the players jose got playing awesome powerful football that got every team in Europe being scared of rocking up to stamford bridge! don't these people want to see a new team of "warlords" taking over european football again? and having the fortress of stamford back! i bloody would! CFC is Mourinho and Mourinho is CFFC. it is like it is his natural home in football. its the place i link most to the character of jose mourinho i dont think of him as a inter man or real madrid man. i think of him as a chelsea man. all i remember mostly is his first interview when he was put in charge. "i don't think i am one from the bottle,i think i am a special one" BANG i loved him from that moment on,and always will.
Dave-David
I'm of the strong belief that mourinho and Psg are a match made in heaven. He can walk into Psg, spend as much as he likes, win everything under the sun and then leave for someone else, leaving Psg to struggle after he's gone. We can't have our cake and eat it unfortunately, we either want mourinho back or we want our youngsters to succeed. Jose doesn't play them and I fail to see why he would comeback to us without lots of money to buy his type of players. Plus a lot of humble pie has to be eaten by roman, which won't happen. We will inevitably end up with a pellegrini, moyes, or god forbid Mancini. Talented coaches are not going to touch the job without seeing change happen.
Blue1989
Plus Carlo and Jose could be swapping jobs anyway.
Blue1989
@Blue1989: Totally agree with you, Mourinho has already asked for us to give Lampard a new contract if Roman wants him to manage Chelsea.----------------If he is our new manager say GOOD BYE to all youngsters who are on loan or in the academy Lucas P, Kevin DB, Patrick VA, Romelu L, Josh M, Nathaniel C, Thibaut C, Tomas K, Gael K etc..-----------------------------BIG NO TO JOSE-------------------------------He will mess up our young team, will get bored and then leave us for a new challenge leaving Chelsea in deep shiet just like last time.

No one can deny Mourinho's ability and status as a top manager but having him return here depends on what we want and intend to achieve... For me, if what we aspire for is 3 or 4 more quick trophies in the next 2 to 3 years then YES, Mourinho is the right man.. What will follow those 2 to 3 years is what we should worry about as I am 90% certain Mourinho won't spend more than 3 years here if he ever returns. Mourinho will be hereonly to make a statement, win trophies and leave and exercise is ego, not build for the future or a sustainable system for continued success which I believe is what a lot of fans see as priority for this Club at the moment. Now, let me also say there is a difference between wish and reality, want and need, a difference between ideal world and real world.... Expecting or wanting Mou to come here to request for not more than 25M and to maximize the full potentials and strength of our youth team into winning trophies in 2 to 3 years is nothing but just mere "want", "wish", "fantasy".... and let me remind you that the EPL Mourinho left in 2007 as since evolved and is much more tougher today... Mourinho spent hundreds of dollars to achieve what he did with us so how we expect him to come today and succeed with a meager budget is what I don't understand.. Wishing for Mourinho in imaginary and unrealistic conditions or circumstances that we know will never happen is just another recipe for disaster.....
