Another One of those Chelsea Deals!
Rumour control is intimating that Chelsea could be about to sign another defender, the defender in the frame being the outstanding young Southampton player Luke Shaw.
However, if the rumours are true, this won`t be one of your typical deals but another of those deals whereby we sign the player and then loan him out.
According to the news source breaking the story, Chelsea will pay a cool £10 million for the 17 year-old before loaning him back to Southampton immediately.

Luke shaw is a good shout and I'll be glad if emenalo pulls it off, PVA is worth a shout too and I think under a new manager luke shaw will get the nod over betrand for now, we stunted his development as a LB by playing him at RW, as luke shaw confessed he is a chelsea admirer once, I think we can also work on that angle to stave off competition

why chelsea want to waste another talent cant understand at all...they will buy him and then loan him and then will forget him and will buy a readymade replacement for cole...

I can understand the rationale here but really do we need 3 possible options as heirs to Ash Coles throne in Ryan, PVA and then Luke while we have no real successor to Makelele, and Ballack? and how about getting a third striker so we can find some means to get rid of El Nino so we can work with a three some of Kraken, Ba and the third piece to our striking triumvarate?

I will buy him for even £15 million. He'll reach Cole's level and i can bet with anybody on that.

I don't think this is a necessary purchase... does it mean we are giving up on Bertrand so soon? moreover, in addition to Bertrand, we have PVA and a young Adam Nditi who is not doing bad at all... LB is not a worrying position for us so I really don't see the need for this... except we just want to continue with the usual trend of sign and loan out...

Don't know about you guys but the difference in class between Luke Shaw and Bertrand ARE MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @traykidd, Wallace is a right back - thought he was a luxurious purchase, but with Ivanovic's alarming fall i.e. poor form in 4 months, that purchase doesn't look stupid.

hmm....Bidding for Luke shaw is a fantastic peice of business...hmm...Bertrand and PVA are not even close to his level and he is just 17!!...please...'ll get shaw and sell one of Berty or PVA since we cant have three Lbs...and'll take him even at 15 million...how much did united sign Zaha?....Shaw will be world class in a couple of seasons...its soo obvious....and in england...it is cole..then it will be Baines and then Shaw...obviously...so'll grab him now.

I really think we should not miss out on another promising player from Southampton to the likes of Spurs and Arsenal. He really did well against us last time

I have given up on Betrand becoming a successful heir to Cole in the left back position, he is beaten far too easily for me and his crossing ability is very poor. I 'd take PVA who in my opinion plays with more flair to compete with Shaw (if we get him). #save our season plsssssssss

Bidding for Luke Shaw is a good idea. Bertrand has not been very convincing the times i have seen him. Southampton would most likely do a deal that would mean they get him for another year on loan and if they can avoid relegation, we would have a ready made LB by the time ashley cole's contract expires. I don't see PVA as a left back. he has more similarities to Bale than a LB and i think we should model him in that role. He has loads of pace plenty shot power and decent enough dribbling ability.

good player this fella, but we also have lots of good kids already here at chelsea...Not convinced he is superior to what we already have especially for the fee being bandied around...

^^Johnny..have you seen him play?...he is far better than both PVA and Berty at this stage on his development and he is also younger, he is only 17.

Why not send Berty in the opposite direction of the deal and pay less i.e around £4-5mil rather than the whole amount.Imo he's better than Betrand so he can replace Ashley in a year's time and PVA will be his competion then.

seems a good shout for me...been hearing a lot about him, and apparently Arsenal was interested....getting 1 over the gooners :)

@ Dwonder u are spot on the PVA observation. he will be better on the left wing than on the LB. I have watched few Eredivisie games and he has improved a lot. with this observation getting Luke won't be a bad idea

good player, have seen him play, snap him up, let's be honest here, i don't think PVA will ever play here, that's a fact, i think the club will get Luke shaw and Bertrand as a cover for LB
