'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Enough is Enough!

When Rafa Benitez was appointed Chelsea manager in late November last year I was stunned.

I wasn't so surprised in Di Matteo`s sacking as the results weren't going well with 2 wins in 8 games and it was clear from the beginning he wasn't Romans choice to be manager, that was a certain Pep Guardiola but when he refused to break from his year sabbatical Roman realized he had to appoint Robbie as he was a Chelsea hero as a player then was the manager delivering the Holy Grail of Champions League and FA Cup.

When Chelsea lost 3-0 away at Juventus which effectively ended Chelsea's hopes of defending the Champions League, Roman acted as roman does and sacked him. But to go and replace a Chelsea hero with a Chelsea enemy was doomed to failure from the start.

Here is a coach who didn't condone himself with Chelsea fans, remember the plastic flags to create an atmosphere and Chelsea fans have no passion comments before the Champions League semi in 2007. And the Chelsea fans love for Jose, who was involved in some heated battles with Rafa.

I personally have never considered Benitez to be a top coach, yes at Valencia he won 2 La Liga's and a UEFA Cup, but I wasn't at this time aware of him to be honest. I started to know more about him when he took charge at Liverpool. In 6 seasons at Liverpool as manager they only challenged for the league once and that's when you consider he spent £229 million and 76 new players were bought its hardly brilliant.

There was only a small handful of signings he made that were great long term buys Reina, Alonso, Agger, Mascherano, Kuyt, Lucas, Torres, the other 69 were duds names including Josemi, Voronin, Keane, Nunez, Aquaillani, Pennant, Babbel, Dossena, yes at Liverpool he did win the Champions League and the FA Cup. But in both games Lady Luck and Steven Gerrard inspired performances carried them home.

He then followed Jose Mourinho at Inter and lasted just 4 months in the job. Since then he hasn`t worked for 2 years till Chelsea came calling. It was clear the fans wouldn't take to him and only a positive start in results would keep the heat off him. He began with 2 points out of 9, with games against City, Fulham and West Ham and ever since then results and performances have been more down than up.

A little reminder of the inconsistency a great away win at Everton was followed by a terrible home loss to QPR.

A great 4-0 away win at Stoke was followed by losing a 2-0 lead against Southampton to draw 2-2.

A 2-1 win over Arsenal was followed again by losing a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Reading.

See this horrible pattern of inconsistency emerging. then you throw in a CWC Final loss to Corinthians, out of the Carling semi final to Swansea, a draw at League 1 Brentford fortunate.

The only great 90 min performance so far was the 8-0 win over Villa which is nothing to shout about as I think they're a poor team.

The substitutions and lack of changes have baffled me more than anything. Both the Reading and Southampton games were crying for JT to come on and help us see the games out, didn't do it Brentford away losing 2-1 he decides to sub Ivanovic for Azpilicueta, what was the point of that?

Then when chasing a goal he gives Ba the last 10 minutes. On to the City match away, this past Sunday, I saw the team line-up and thought my god this 11 is weaker than the side that was put out against Prague and Brentford. The team was also set out wrong, I don't know what his problem with JT is, keeps dropping him but if his goal is to make the Chelsea fans hate you more by dropping the captain leader and legend, mission accomplished!

Under Rafa Chelsea have played 15 league games won 6 drew 5 and lost 4, that's mid table standard not Chelsea standard. Roman needs to act now and get rid of the worst manager in the Abramovich era and that's a fact!
