'If It's Football, It's Vital'

To Good to be True.

With news agog in almost every site today that Yaya Toure has issued an ultimatum to Man City to discuss a contract renewal with him before Saturday or he is off and I can't help but wonder if rumours that we are in the race for his signature and willing to pay for his services is true.

Now I must confess that I don't like Yaya Toure as a person at all because of his many transgressions against our Jewel (Mata) but as a player, he would be marvelous in our midfield.

To imagine him beside Mikel in the B2B role or sitting as a DM (which he did very well in Barca) is a joy to deep that it can't be fully explored.

While a Mancini favourite, it seems the influence of the two ex-Barca bosses at Man City is key to a reluctance to offer such a prized player a new contract and yet let issues degenerate to this level.

It also means that Mancini might be losing his grip on power at Etihad because left to Mancini, he would have signed him for another 10 years. I doubt if he would want to move to Man U over the more beautiful London (we can always outbid Man U anyway) although Real Madrid is another matter entirely although some papers infer that Mou is crazy about him.

But with Mou's exit been heavily speculated, (I doubt he will be at the helm of affairs come next season) Yaya might have second thoughts. So I suspect he fancies PSG or Juve (don't really need him with Vidal, Marchisio and Pirlo) we might be looking at an answer to all our problems in the pivot.

This might be a ruse to force City's hands but then, I can but help wonder what we would become if we can snatch him off City............

I honestly think it IS a ruse by Yaya to get what he wants. City won't let him go.
Squig
Well he wud be a gr8 signing but there are lots of issues involved here. Man City wudn't sell him to us, or yaya is maybe bluffing for a contract, similar story came out last summer from his agent. And then his age, his wage demand and transfer fee are some of the other issues. Someone like Benat or even youngster like Asier Illaramendi of Real Sociedad is ideal for pivot or Kevin Strootman of PSV is exceptional too.

as daft as cech going to arsenal get real folks journo rubbish,id love him at the bridge apart from the african nations cup which deprives clubs their best players every 2 years in the middle of a season which is crazy

Despite the fact that your thread title is missing an 'o', it really does say it all. This is most likely his representative looking for a bung rather than Yaya looking for more money.
Bluedub
We dont need him.
zaput
For someone who is going to be 30, please no! We have Ramires anyway!
Seabourch
gundogan or gokhan inler

i think this is just a agent ploy to extract more money for his player. if he was available then i would take him for £22 million hands down. yes he might be 29 but he has a good 2/3 years at the top level and then could move on as we would have chalobah breaking through by then. a midfield of yaya,KDB,ramires, oscar, romeu, mikel and maybe lampard would do my fine for next season.
Dave-David
Do you know how much he earns? 200k+ pounds per week I believe. No thanks

haji @ did u mean gondogbia or gundogan.

Too good to be true indeed!!

Yaya is not a bad player but I'm not interested in him... I wouldn't advice we go for him.. He doesn't control the midfield as much as I want... We don't need another player who would come here feeling like a superstar when he actually isn't....

I'm surprised no one is talking about the 'Player power' Yaya has displayed. Oh Yeah, I guess player power only comes to play in the dressing room. Its Player power at work(Agents),same thing Rooney did 2 seasons back...Yaya will get what he wants if not something close.
nelyvanile
@nelyvanille didnt lamps do the same? Personally if he came to chelsea for £20m on a 3 yr deal it would be a good deal as he the type of player chelsea are crying out for plus on a 3 yr deal our godlen boy chalobah should be ready. However Yaya will not come as city will not sell in stead he will get a new improved contract!
MrDax
Yaya toure is turning 30 soon. And it is highly unlikely. We'd be more likely to get vidal, who is younger, and actually a better box to box than yaya imo( however again we are unlikely to be able to get him) We have ramires who can play a similar role. A Deep lying playmaker would be nice as he would be able to go up against teams that park the bus, and ramires will be able to tear apart teams who do try and attack us.
chelsea1905
We better start to look somewhere else...Dont waste time behind these old people....Look for Gundogan at Dortmund...he is 22 and is already playing like a star...we need to loook at these kind of players for our pivot, not a soon-to-be 30yr old asking ridiculous wages
Blu_run
City won't sell to Chelsea
@Mq
Now if we can get a fernandinho(which is more viable), we can bid for vidal (we might hit Gold), we can bid for witsel too, we can bid for many nice box to box midfielders available that would do a better job than yaya, fernandinho, vidal, axel, gundogan, gustavo are very good players that will get the job done, then there is capoue, fellaini and perhaps the VC rated wanyeama. Hardworkers that would break their backs for the success of their team
Desmondadonis
@Desmondadonis...Yaya is in the top three of the most effective players in the BPL...I fail to understand how you can say there are many who can do a better job...He's a little bit of Mata and a little bit of Makalele combined...a rare combination...I'm not saying we should go for him or anything, but do not be so quick to say that there are many who are better...besides, Witsel is in Russia...so no tax and therefore to match his salary would be a devastating prospect...
Gian-Franco/Luca
My picks for the deep lying playmaker/ holding in central midfield pivot are as follow: Kevin Strootman - PSV Benat- Real betis Asier Illaramendi- Real Sociedad Ilkay Gundogan, Sven Bender- B. Dortmund Lars Bender- B. Leverkusen Blase Matuidi - PSG then u have the usual, expensive and maybe not ideal ones in Fellaini, Yaya toure, Modric, Moutinho, Paulinho, Busquets. Some real left field picks- Chalobah (our own boy), Leon Britton (swansea- 30 yrs but class act, lots of exp. and english ) Lots others out there, chelsea missed out on a good one in Dembele to spurs In the end it's important Roman lets next permanent manager to bring in the type of player to suit the system he wants to employ. All above is useless unless Roman doesnt change his ways and learns from the mistakes made in last 2 yrs.
syed230183_chelseafc
Nah @Desmond, Only Gundogan come close to the creative quality of Yaya. Fenandinho and the rest have poor passing and vision. Vidal is also creative and agile but Yaya is better. Yaya is one of the best @what he does. He is a quality deeplying Mid with high footballing IQ, vision and can score goals. He is also a big game player. I dont think City will sell, and his wages will be too much. I will go for Alonso instead as his contract will expire next season & Madrid are ready to sell. Alonso still have 3 years @the top.
