'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Best 23-man Squad for EPL 2012/2013

But do you beg to differ?

With the 21st season of the Barclays Premier League gone, away with the wind, and after 380 league matches decided, champions crowned, European football contenders separated from the pretenders, we thought it wise to name those stand-out performers that would make that all elusive though theoretical 23-man exclusive club!

It's all fancy stuff hence you're obviously welcome to agree or disagree.

Petr Cech (Chelsea and Czech Rep.),
David de Gea (Champions and Spain).

Favoured formation:

and

Eva Caneiro! *winks *winks

Owner:

Lol....i like the humour. lol Luke Shaw and That Aston Villa young right back should get shouts as well. THey really came out last season.
3nity
Oh Roberto Martinez for backroom staff please.
3nity
LMAO at the backroom staff and owner!! Good one HGH. The squad I guess covers almost everything!! I think you should have added Torres to backroom staff as well. Striker coach!!! LMAOOO
syed230183_chelseafc
You should make it even and have 2 players for each position. I disagree with most of the defence. (also a bit too biased). I'd have GK: Cech,Mignolet,De Gea ------- RB: zabaleta, azipilicueta----- CB: Koscielny, vertonghen, bassong, Ferdinand ----- LB: Baines, evra ---- CM/CDM: Toure, carrick, fellaini, lampard. ------ CAM/LW/RW: Mata, hazard, cazorla, bale, walcott, michu ------ ST: RVP, Suarez (4231)
Humza_96
There's one name on the backroom staff list I wouldn't have within a million miles of any 'best of' list! See if you can guess which one (he'd ruin the team photo!!!)?!
SpanishBlue
LOL @backroom staff
The Persian
LMAO SpanishBlue......you really hate Tubby ! Imagine if you had him tied on a chair... what would you do to him ?
The Persian
LOL @Humza_ it's Fergie's team mate, he plays with 4 strikers. Evra and no Cole, the best left-back in the country? Oh well...
HGH Magic
Besides, if u checked very well u'd see it's basically 2 per positions, like for like, like Yaya±Fellaini, Benteke±Lukaku, Mata±Carzola and so on!
HGH Magic
@HGH its team of the season. Not the best player for each position, just whose been better season. Also you said 4231. Having 4 ST for one position? Fergie does it because he plays 2 upfront.
Humza_96
Who on earth is Landruap?
FrLamp
Yes, like u know, these things ain't cast on stone and as such Fergie likes tweaking them as any particular match demands - forget what Rafa seems to make u believe! We've all seen him play Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito and RVP all at once, no? So what do u call that formation? @Humza?
HGH Magic
And please don't tell me Bassong and Koscielny were at anytime ahead of Luiz let alone Nastasic THROUGHOUT the course of the season just because u don't want to make the team "a bit too biased" 'cos I ain't buying any of that! Koscielny was a worthy mention and that IMHO should be about it. Nastasic alongside Zabaleta were City's best defenders, no? Also, don't tell me u've forgotten how the much-maligned "Zorres" made a mess of him on our first meeting this season...and the other howlers! That Arsenal weren't leaking goals silly this season was mainly due to two of their defenders, viz: Gibbs and Mertazacker, trust me mate!
HGH Magic
Yet to see anyone complaining about having Eva in that backroom staff though...*winks LOL...VC brothers!
HGH Magic
Actually your right. Nastasic has been solid this year its a shame he's so underrated. Bassong has been a rock for norwich. Luiz has been good from January onwards and so has koscielny. But I'd put koscielny because Luiz played half his games at CDM. Mertesackers been average, he's made as many mistakes as koscielny. Like when he tried to play the offside trap by himself against spurs(LOL). Gibbs makes at least 1 error a game.
Humza_96
Lmao @SpanishBlue, it ain't all about looks mate. The guy's got it; he humiliated the head coach/manager, ORN throughout the season, and so deserves his place. U know he actually looks like a certain Pepe Reina or Tim Howard brother? LOL
HGH Magic
Also the only time they played all four at once was when they were desperate for a goal. That formation is called 'throw the kitchen sink'. Fergie played 3 of them a few times this season. That was in a 41212 formation and rooney played as a CAM.
Humza_96
Ya bro, Gibbs...but on that same token, so does everybody else, no? Heck, even Lionel Messi!
HGH Magic
Gibbs is also inconsistent and his defensive side is pretty *****.
Humza_96
About Luiz as CDM, well it's called versatility!!! And I'm sure u'd rather have such a 'problem' as a manager instead of having the need to try such a novelty as experimenting with someone like, say, a Pepe at CDM, no? Lol
HGH Magic
Michu over Bentake for me...Torres doesn't even get a mention...23 goals and 8 assists. Pace, power and creativity. The dude in the # 8 shirt (a midfielder who fails to perform his core function) has 6 assists but is included however....that pretty much says everything about your mindset sir. The rest of the list is ok
had2bg
had2bg, what do you have against "that dude in #8 jersey"?
Princeblue
Our manager Rafa beat Fergie twice during the season with a small squad and you make him manager.Surely our boss should be manager.
THEBREEZE
we would have been definately 2nd had we finished man u at OT itself. becays then there wouldn't have been any 1st april replay and we would have won southampton game easily.
ChampionBlue
GKs: Cech (Chelsea), De Gea (ManU), Guzan (Aston Villa)........ RBs: Zabaleta (ManC), Dave (Chelsea)....... CBs: Ivanovic (Chelsea), Ferdinand (ManU), Vertongen (Spurs), Koscielny (Arsenal)....... LBs: Baines (Everton), Ben Davies (Swansea)....... Pivot: Carrick (ManU), Dembele (Spurs), Yaya (ManC), Arteta (Arsenal)........ Att.Mids: Hazard (Chelsea), Mata (Chelsea), Cazorla (Arsenal), Bale (Spurs), Coutinho (LPool), D Silva (ManC)....... Striker: Suarez (Liverpool), Van Persie (ManU)......
Blu_run
well my team would be : Gk: Begovic(Stoke), Cech(Chelsea),Mignolet(Sunderland) ; Rb: Zabaleta(ManC), Azpilicueta(Chelsea) ; Cb: Koscielny(Arsenal),Ashley Williams(Swansea), Vertonghen(Spurs), Bassong(Norwich) ; Lb: Shaw(Southampton), Baines(Everton) ; Dm: Fellaini(Everton), Wilshere(Arsenal) ; Am: Bale(Spurs), Hazard(Chelsea),Mata(Chelsea) ; St: V.Persie(Manu. Formation : 4231 , subs: De Gea(Manu), Nastasic(Manc), M.Lowton(A.Villa), Michu(Swansea), Lukaku( Chelsea)
chelsea44
i wouldn't even consider Ferdinand or Suarez in my team, those two are what's wrong with football now days
chelsea44
LOL...it's ur opinion @chelsea44, though it seems u'd probably be just as successful as Mancini if u were coach...sentiments' hardly Fergie's style mate! Plus Wilshere? Really? One who just resumed duties March or something? Thought it was team of the season mate? And @Blu-run, Silva really? This season? *Smh...plus, that Coutinho guy, wasn't he bought in the January transfer window? Also, Ben Davies over Cole, Evra, Gibbs? Lmao...
HGH Magic
@BREEZE, not enough mate. SAF deservedly won the league plus the LMA Manager of the Year award for an unprecedented fourth time!
HGH Magic
lol hgh, wilshere reliable as ever for Arsenal when he was called, besides not much good DM in EPL anyway, Yaya Toure is crap this season, and will always be, the fact u choose ferdinand and carrick at your team speaks a lot about you, maybe if i were a coach i'll be like Mancini, but if u were the coach you'd be like Avram grant, sucesfully relegated 2 clubs , and Ben Davies have been wonderful called upon to replace Taylor for Swansea who have injury at the start of the season, certainly fits the team of the year better than Evra or Gibbs, A.Cole also haven't been performing like he usually does in EPL anyway
chelsea44
#Consistency was key mate! Avram Grant? Yaya Toure is crap and will always be? Really? Like seriously? LOL
HGH Magic
I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole TP, even then! Seriously though, I don't hate him (as I keep saying), that's a strong word and I don't even know the guy. I don't care what he looks like either (let's face it, the Wee Man is no oil painting but I love him to bits!). I just don't rate Rafa as a coach and I have explained why many times (most recently on the '' thread if anyone's interested). For that reason, there are a lot of other coaches I'd have ahead of him on the best of EPL 2012/13 backroom staff.
SpanishBlue
@SpanishBlue, why not give credit where it's due mate? The fat dude did what was asked of him! And considering the circumstances I think did a reasonably good enough job, especially in light of the failures of the skinny whinny whinnying Wengers and the cute but melancholic Mancinis of this league!
HGH Magic
I do HGH but I don't think that credit is due in this case. Under the circumstances, he did not do a very good job because he is not a very good Manager, I have given good reasons for this time and time again, I'm not doing it again but I will say (again) that it is not personal, I'm not that ignorant. It is simply because he is vastly lacking as a Manager!
SpanishBlue
Oh, my link above didn't work! It was supposed to point to: http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=535197

Ok
