Chelsea Makes Maddox Second Signing!

Chelsea Makes Maddox Second Signing!

The wait for who will be Chelsea FC's second signing after Andre Schurrle is over, and it wasn't Cavani or Van Ginkel as most hoped, but little known Jacob Maddox, ring any bells?

I suppose not.

Well, he's one for the future after all, and news breaking is that we have won the race for the signature of 14 year-old Bristol City wonder-kid, Jacob Maddox as the Daily Mail reports he has agreed a four-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge at the expense of the usual suspects, the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham - where we are only expected to pay Bristol City a compensation for his signature.

He may be very young but don't let his young age kid you, Maddox is as rare a gem as they come and has emerged as the hottest property in England even representing Bristol City's under-18 teams! The new Michael Owen, anyone? Hmm...

This must be great news to Chelsea fans as it doesn't only bolster our English quota but further drives home the fact that these are indeed the days of stability!

Don't you agree?

Do 14yr old whipper snappers count as signings? :) Hope he comes good though. Representing the U18s whilst only 14 is no mean feat. Charly Musonda is another one who is already on our books, still only 15 but worth keeping an eye out for...

the Journos dont even do their due diligence..its annoying...as a professional in the Finance field, I have enough footy knowledge to know that a 14yr old cannot sign a professional contract until his 18th birthday (Remember Piazon??) until the latest FIFA rules...Yes he is joining, but he wont be under a professional contract until he is 18!....I still wonder how journos in England get paid salaries...their research is so shallow...**smh!!!

I am all for clubs investing in young talented players - providing they do actually train and nurture them well! What I do object to is many clubs allowing themselves to be "Mugged" by so many average and ungratefull "Players"? This is an insult to this country and to their local community who deserve so much more! This is not a Chelsea issue - it goes on up and down the country! Clubs are pouring money down a bucket with a hole in it when their communities COULD COME FIRST!

lol @layorh12--mate "lazy journalism" is clichéd. Call it something else...even with all the glaring facts! lol...no one called this a "professional contract", although there'll be exchange of money - the compensation - and signatures! No one did. Not Daily mail. Just you.. ;-)
