If You Pray Hard Enough………..

If You Pray Hard Enough………..

Waiting for 09:00 this morning and the fixtures for the 2013 / 2014 season to filter through, I was praying we`d start with a home game.

With Jose Mourinho firmly installed as our new manager and the return being heralded as the 'Second Coming`, I thought it only fair that the legions could, officially, welcome back Jose at his spiritual home.

I was of the belief that the 'Happy One` should be received by as many of his followers as possible and not just the limited amount graced with tickets for an away game at some ground where the attendance would be strictly limited.

And that my friends, is exactly how it turned out!

On August 17th (as long as TV doesn`t decree otherwise), Jose will get the reception he deserves and the roof will be lifted off when Chelsea entertain Hull City in the first fixture of the season.

It`s something that also pleases Jose with the 'Happy One` being quoted on the official site as having remarked,

'Starting the season at home is a great way for our supporters to show the players they are ready to be behind the team all the way, and at the same time it is a great way for the players to show how much they are motivated and committed.'

'I am so happy to start at the Bridge, but at the same time Hull City is a team who were promoted from the Championship and they will have that spirit, even if now they are in the Premier League. So it is an emotional but a hard start.'

All we now is a countdown clock to herald that historic moment - anyone care to help?

It's an ideal start to the new season, with the first match at home, and the fans getting the chance to welcome Jose. But Man U away next, so we have to be ready.

I can imagine the fans raising the roof with noise of "gagantuan" decibels when Jose walks in.
