'If It's Football, It's Vital'

De Bruyne Dumps Dortmund

He got this one out of the way too. Finally. We won't get to hear it again.

Kevin De Bruyne doesn't want to go to Borussia Dortmund! Although how the German outfit thought the Belgium international still wants to make the move after assurances from Mourinho was laughable and near ludicrous.

Jose Mourinho only recently made it clear he has no intentions of selling or loaning out the promising midfielder to the Champions League finalists, or any other club, and apparently everyone got it right except Dortmund's Director of Football, Michael Zorc, who a couple of days ago was still going on about how De Bruyne 'wants to join' them, on a five-year contract!

Well it appears that was a pipe-dream after all as the 21 year-old has put paid to all that through his agent Patrick De Koster who has now confirmed talks between Mourinho and Kevin, saying,

"Mr Mourinho gave a phone call to Kevin, explaining a little bit the situation for next season."

"We didn`t receive any guarantees, but it`s normal in a team like Chelsea. It`s up to him to prove like he did in the last 18 months."

"Kevin wants to play. Playing football, he became a better football player. I think he proved it staying six months more in Genk and last season in Bremen."

"He did very well. Now it`s up to him to prove the same thing at Chelsea."

It could be recalled De Bruyne, who is yet to kick a ball for Chelsea, arrived from Genk in January 2012 in a 6.7m deal and was immediately sent on loan to another German outfit Werder Bremen in 2012/13 where he became a key feature playing in 33 out of their 34 Bundesliga matches and scoring 10 times as well as providing 9 assists, and having proved himself in one of Europe`s top leagues Chelsea (Mourinho actually) knows there is no reason to doubt the attacking midfielder can now transfer that ability to the Premier League.

Now that all these silly rumours and paper bovine about our long-term players like Kevin, Mata, Ramires et al are getting thrown out of the way forward, left, right and centre, and we could now move on to more pressing issues like pre-season and squad reinforcement who said there ain't happy, special and stable times ahead?

What are your thoughts you Blues? With Mourinho also giving the nod to 20 year-old Romelu Lukaku and said to be vigorously pursuing 19 year-old Marco Van Ginkel, do you reckon he is on the right track building his squad with so many youngsters?

Well good that KDB issue was taken care of. I think the issue was solved some time back, but with BVB coming out with that claim of theirs. KDB's agent had to come out and clear the air. So as you were.........
syed230183_chelseafc
Not exactly sure what our actual targets are. Jose mentioned couple of signings to increase competitiveness, hoping that's done before pre-season starts.
syed230183_chelseafc
De laurentiis blabbing about Cavani now. Apparently "Man City don't have 63 m euros, they won't pay that sum for cavani", "Dzeko isn't properly priced, he isn't same as he was in germany", " marina (granovskaia- cfc) didn't call him" LOL!!, plus he added Bayern to RM and barca in teams interested in Cavani!!! *smh*
syed230183_chelseafc
cavani can feckkk offf...63 million for that one trick camel....
shlok27
rather pay 10 million to torres and he will happly change his name to cavani...:-)
shlok27
@shlok -- now he is a camel !!!! Lmaooo
syed230183_chelseafc
^^calling a human being a camel?...as a result of a release clause set by his club and not him...where are human values these days?....hmm
layorh12
Kvb loves CFC n i know he wants to wear tht blue shirt.but most importantly is the need for Jose to have a competative n depth in our squad.looking foward to Kvb next season
blue5
De laurentiis is behaving like the neighbourhood fine girl who every guy dreams about and wants but she keeps playing hard to get and gives each guy a different dose of broken heart....then boom...she turns 35...not married...all the guys are married and enjoying their lives...and there she is lonely and forced to accept a looser as an excuse for a husband....vey soon...oxford united and wycombe united will be the two teams fighting over his jewel...cavani
kojoAntwi
repect for you and your comment re human values lahor #respect #human values
Blue_Mel
@kojoAntwi-- LOL!! :D
syed230183_chelseafc
Very colorful comments by kojo but they are not far from the truth..De laurentis isnt fooling anyone and Cavani's showing at the confedrations cup isnt helping his case either..no one..not even Real and City will pay him 63 mill euros for Cavani..Since Monaco, PsG and Anzhi arent interested he will either have to come back to earth from the twilight zone he has beenleaving in or Cavani will remain at Naples which all considered may not be that bad an option. In the meantime we need to target and secure one more quality striker..clearly we are not getting any top tier striker..they are pretty much all spoken for but if we can get either Dzeko, Jovetic or Gomez we will have to make do with that but ensure we sort out the DM and playmaking CM positions as well as a back up goalie.

I have been on the kdb bandwagon since he was signed, I have the believe that he can offer us what oscar and mata can't offer us as a CAM/winger,his crosses are pin point and he is also a hardworker, I believe he'll give everyone of the midfielders hahead of him a run for their money, I am super excited he is staying afterall, I hope he becomes a hit, seeing the talents we've got and what they can do at their age, I am feeling sorry for some teams already, the trick is for mou to get the right combo, now let us get that juggernaut as a DM, someone clearly an upgrade to mikel, not some wannabee type for outrageous fees and we'll be set, my guess right now is that it is possible oscar would be sacrificed as the DLP. Let us wait and see

Don't we have a bid on the table? Not rejected either is it? Not up to the asking price / release clause, but Napoli De Laurentis might want to re-think LOL!
BlueABS
i have always wanted Wayne Rooney rather than Cavani... Rooney will offer us far more flexibility than Cavani and when properly motivated is almost at par with Cavani. 63m euros for Cavani is a joke and the sooner De laurentis seats down in Naples and quote a reasonable price the better for him or what Kojo said will happen to them word for word. With Man city taking a position, Real Madrid making Suarez their 1st choice, Bayern already has Mandukzic and won't let Gomez leave until next summer in which Lewandoski is coming so no point making a foolish bid we Lewan will come next season for free. I hope Chelsea also comes out too and take a stand. lets see if Cavani will do two more years in Naples.
Dwonder
Also very happy for KDB the lad has enough talent and industry to play with us and give us more options in the attacking trio.
Dwonder
Cavani is not all that.I hope hope Chelsea does the sensible thing and sign a WorldClass central midfielder and a decent forward not pay over the top for a glorified Gomez.I'd rather Higiuain
bluekid
Im actually happy Chelsea/Jose made the sensible thing in retaining KDB.Along with MAZACAR,Schurrle and Moses,Kevin brings another skillset which is essential to our team.I feel sorry for most of our opposition next season already considering the plethora of attackers we have and Mou at the helm
bluekid
Hey @bluekid, where u been mate? Arsene already got him. Higuain ;)
HGH Magic
Would love cavani as he is a top striker and just because we probably won't get him you won't see me slagging him off as a camel days after these people were wetting themselves for him. Just like city fans on twitter tonight now saying they never wanted him in the first place, just like they did after Jose wasn't there's! As a few people on here state i would also prefer Wayne Rooney as I worry an out and out striker will fare no better than Torres or ba. Our team is built of players who would play a lot better with a deeper no.10 style of striker who can link up play drop deep and who can actually play on the same wave length as hazard,Oscar and mata. I believe with Rooney who might score 35 goals a season himself but with him buzzing around with hazard,Oscar, mata, lamps and KDB playing with him he goals will be spread a hell of a lot around the team. Rooney could really unlock the hazard goal scoring also. There's nothing mor ei would like I see is hazard banging in over 20 goals a season playing with a deep lying no.10. Mouth watering
Dave-David
I'd like to see how De Bruyne would cope as a CM.
RadioactiveD
Wondering where u guys were @Dwonder n Radioactive when I was acting the lone ranger...calling for Rooney or Benteke...how they'll be perfect for your 4-3-3, just as Benteke, for instane, plays with Agbonlahor and Weimann at Villa, and would be perfect in that setup with Lukaku at the centre with Hazard/Schurrle/KDB flanking or in the centre himself in the 4-2-3-1 or among the "3". Same with Rooney! 'nuff said.
HGH Magic
where are human values......i think it has got lost in transfer season...by the way i never wanted cavani in first place and i would be more than happy if he doesnt come here...because he is just an overhyped striker....yaa he is good striker but not that good also for that price...
shlok27
What did i miss?......Glad Kdb issue has been cleared..#top talent# And oh! Cavani is a Camel! Sue me! :-P

@Hgh.Has Higuian been confirmed at Arse?
bluekid
Good to know KDB will be given chance to prove his worth.... Mourinho's ability to succeed would require a balanced blend of the youngsters with the more established senior players.. I believe his plan will be to utilize the younger players as back ups... the usual suspects will still be the starters, with a little changes though..... Let's see how it all goes....
Latunvic
After watching the first set of games in the U20 WC today, players I feel have good potentials of becoming future stars are Deulofeu & J.Rodriguez(Spain), Kondogbia(France), Bruma(Portugal) and Ajagun(Nigeria).... There's another guy for Portugal but I can't remember his name now...
Latunvic
@bluekid--will soon be made official. Scooped he's agreed personal terms of 130k p/w in a deal worth 22 mil. Also, for those who have interest in Asier Illarramendi(10m), he seems Arse-bound. Paulinho Tottenham ;)
HGH Magic
I told ya to look out for Kondogbia. He is definitely the type of beast we need for our midfield, one that will make our midfield look fearsome and Man City wont boss it when we play against them.
Simeon23
Kdb is staying as we already knw dat but BVB just want 2 unsettled him just like Spanish media are doing right now 4 Mata. Concerning Cavani, my prayer all days is dat we would not get him except if d price is right. 63m is way too much 4 dis guy pls

Forget Benteke, he is too similar to Lukaku & Ba. We need something different.
SameX
25m Pounds for Rooney is better than 63m Euros for Cavani and as someone said, Rooney is EPL proven, his style of play will help get the best out of MaZaCar & allow Mata & Hazard especially to bang in more goals. Use the remaining cash to fix the pivot.
SameX
If Arsenal get Illaramendi, Higuain, Julio Ceazar, Felleni and Wenger can get them to gel with the likes of Wilshere, Arteta, Carzola, Walcott, Sagna, Monreal, Metaksacker & Vermeleen they will be a dangerous side next season.
SameX
Apparently all papers blabbing now that since we have struck a 300 mill pounds sponsorship deal, Jose has got the signal for a spending spree!! LOL!! It's 30 mill pounds approx per year, over 10 years, not like we will receive the whole money right now. *smh*
syed230183_chelseafc
We need to act fast & fix our Pivot first. DeRossi is a World Class CDM, I hope we get him, he is 29 and will not obstruct the development of the likes of Ake, Chalobah & Loftus-Cheek.... DeRossi is not purely a DM, he is also a very good passer of the ball. Similar to Bastian, he is solid defensively, agile, hardworking with good tackling ability & positional discipline and still very good with the ball & creative. From what Jose told Rami, I am certain Ramires will be one of his untouchables next season, If we get DeRossi, I think Jose will play a Rami-DeRossi Pivot with MaZaCar CF upfront OR play Mikel-DeRossi-Rami Hazard-CF-Schurlle in a 4-3-3 setup against the likes of ManCity to match their physicality in midfield.
SameX
@samex I agree with you 100% ;) Rooney all day long
Shedend
Btw, am happy KDB will be here next season, having KDB & Lukaku here next season is like having 2 new signings; a young, pacy, strong CF in Lukaku who had 17 EPL goals last season & a very versatile, skillful & creative beast in KDB who had 10 goals with 9 assists for Bremen last season, finished as one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season. We will have no problem with depth next season, we will be able to cope with the EPL, C1C, FaCup, UCL without fear of injuries. Jose said he loves KDB versatility, I expect to see KDB play several positions for us next season.
SameX
@SameX...you make a lot of sense mate, your permutations are fantastic and realistic...the 4-3-3 you mentioned with Mikel-DeRossi-Rami and Hazard-Shurlle and CF..against a team like Mancity actually looks very good to me on paper, efficient juggernaut and very mad pace counter attacking...the line up is adequate to match them in my eyes..and the 4-2-3-1 against other oppositions will also work very well even when teams pack the bus...the issue with me right now is that I cant see any other alternative to De rossi that will give us the same extra strength he will offer, just in case we dont get him....I am sure such players are available anyways, hopefully we have one or two in mind....This also shows that we are just maybe 2-3 players from overall quality...I am super excited...
layorh12
True @Layorh, I think 1 CF, DeRossi, VanGinkel & a backup Goalie will be good enough for now. This will be a bad time to sell Mikel, I think he will be useful in the long run, he may not be first choice but he will add depth to our Central Mid & steel when needed, btw, Romeu may be loaned out. Lets see how our CBs & fullbacks improve under Jose @least till January. If we need help in Central back & LB we can address the situation by January.
SameX
Let's not forget Essien is back, and Jose loves The Bison. How many times last season, when our DM was being pulled all over the place for the want of a 'destroyer' (Citeh, West Ham (FFS)), did we say, we could do with someone like Essien to do the job. OK, it's not long-term, but neither is De Rossi really. You guys need to think outside the box sometimes, it's not all about Transfers.
BlueABS
^^How many times did Mou play Essien as a DM in Madrid???.....***smh
layorh12
So what layorh? You saying Essien can't do a job there? *SMH back*
BlueABS
He's gonna set the PL on fire This season...
