What piece of news is this?

The papers doing the rounds this morning on the 9th July are saying Jose has made Wayne Rooney his no.1 target.

It is reported that Chelsea are ready to match Rooney's wage of £240,000 a week and will offer him a 5 year deal if he can force his way out of United.

Meanwhile Rio Ferdinand has told Rooney he may regret joining Chelsea.

I know many people won`t like this news but since the Suarez and Rooney rumours are getting stronger, what`s your take?

Which of them, both of them, none of them?

In the space of a few hours late last nite, Telegraph linked us with Benteke, Mirror linked us with Suarez, and our buddies Daily mail linked us with Rooney. Total chaos and shambles to be honest. ............... Rooney being offered 240,000 pounds/week??? highly doubtful!!

no no to this overrated english will sound for him to get double some cfc players get.Mou is a joker, thats not rebuilding a team but invite trouble which could lead to mass exodus of our good players.Am not liking a bit how mou is handling the team.
09/07/2013 17:37:00
none of them . a day before this Rooney rumors were up , they said Barca offering 20+M + Villa for Rooney and *puff* Villa signed with atletico .
09/07/2013 17:51:00
@mzee69- Mou has had two training sessions ffs!!! Rooney thing is a rumor. No one will pay those wages!! *SMH* JOKER?? Lord have mercy!!
09/07/2013 18:33:00
Also @mzee69 Emenalo is incharge of transfer policy, Jose only is consulted on transfers!! smh!! LOL!! Read some current news!!
09/07/2013 18:36:00
syed tell the writter about breaking news not me.unless ur blinded by mou return.
09/07/2013 18:45:00
@mzee69-- LOL!!! You are only guessing without facts and trashing Jose blinded by your hate for him!!
09/07/2013 19:01:00
Silly rumours. They've ran out of players to link us to. The worst is yet to come. I don't see Mourinho signing a striker unless one of Torres/Ba is shipped out. Which I don't see happening. Mourinho is not a magician but lets have faith in him bringing the best out of our strikers.

Mou didnt have hand in any of these rumour,so as a real fan u dont need to believe in romour than your coach.believe me another name for mou now is silent one and gentle one

This news is looking more likely now that we have signed schwarzer....imagine we have to sign a new DM and A CF and we have just 7home grown players(including mcheacran and moses) which means we would need to sign either an English CF or an English DM(maybe rooney or barry) and we won't sell or loan either of moses of josh people which do you think is likely now...for me I think its the English CF scenerio that is most likely Note:chalobah and hutchison isn't among the 7 homegrown anyway
09/07/2013 21:57:00
And why is dude over reacting like its his money....I don't get it
09/07/2013 22:06:00
Don't be shocked if rooney hands in an official transfer request soon...just like benteke did...#finger crossed
09/07/2013 22:15:00
rooney - £240,000! REALLY!!!!!!!
09/07/2013 23:24:00
I am looking at this bit of news without interest, how can we pay 240k per week? Chelsea won't pay that kind of fee, get one more experienced DM and we can be ready for the season not pay a cut throat wage.
10/07/2013 05:53:00
Why can't we pay 240,000? Are we talking about a Wee club here?Besides if we can't pay for rooney,we could move for DEFOE,at least he is home grown...what do you think?
10/07/2013 07:13:00
We were once linked with falcao and cavani and was rumoured to have agreed personal terms with them...this morning I took time to review the 3 situation and I found out that: Cavani:Reported 150,000 agreed and a 5year contract.(150000x4=600000x12=7200000x5=36000000+54m=90m) Falcao:Reported 200,000agreed and a 5year deal. (200000x4=800000x12=9600000x5=48000000+50m=98m) Rooney:reported 240,000 and a 5 year deal. (240000x4=960000x12=11520000x5=57600000+30m=87.6m) So even with rooney's 240,000 a week and his 30m transfer fee,his deal would be the cheapest of the 3 in a period of 5years...Now I am not saying let's sign him because I have other reasons we shouldn't and not because of his salary,so all those that complains about his salary and still say we need a top striker,of all top strikers we would have gotten he would have been the cheapest except I said its pointing towards him that we will snap him up because we have one home grown spot to be filled at the moment now that we have signed schwarzer,it will be interesting to see how things unfold #fingers crossed Good Morning Y'all
10/07/2013 07:36:00
morn d hazardious, on d long run he should b cheaper than cavani. for me i want him cos he will take care of our home grown slot. tottenham want to get rid of defoe so how can u suggest we go for him? suarez to me will give us a diffent style(so will rooney) compared to lukaku which will b needed in some matches e.g stoke, city wit stubborn defence

I dint really mean we sign defoe...I said it because of all those who said we shouldn't sign rooney when they know our home grown status is short of 1 player...maybe they would prefer defoe....#just being sarcastic
10/07/2013 09:47:00
As Hazard11 has pointed out, Rooney is the cheapest among them both in transfer fee and in the long run. He is another type of striker from the out and out stiker Falcao and Cavani are which won't work well with Chelsea IMO. I always admire him, hope we sign him soon.
