Ruddy Made Replacement?

It would seem that Chelsea tried to tempt Norwich City into parting with their international keeper, John Ruddy, by offering an increased bid yesterday.

Details are not forthcoming as to how much the revised bid was but we`re beginning to wonder whether Norwich are, deep-down, resigned to losing their man.

The reason I say this is that the Norfolk outfit are, this morning, linked with making a move for the Glasgow Celtic keeper, Fraser Forster, which brings me to suspect that they`re looking at a ready-made replacement for a departing Ruddy.

Or have I just mulled things over in my creaking mind and made 2+2=5?

It could be the case. But we need to look elsewhere and not drag things if Norwich don't show interest in a sale.

Mark Schwarzer being said to have signed a 1 year deal with us!!! Not yet official but was pictured with GK coach Lollichon at Cobham. If done, a good one out of blue again!! LOL!! But very short term and homegrown quota issues remain I guess!

CIA operation indeed. nobody saw this one coming. now thats why you dont have to believe most of what u read about cfc transfers. chelsea would never respond to those rumours because doing so would legitimise them. rather it would help the club deflate attention from the real targets.

The Schwarzer signing if confirmed is excellent..a one year deal gives us one more year to sort out the Courtois situation with the chance for further extensions as needed. It is true that it dose not help our home grown quota woes but this just makes it even more important to retain guys like Moses who fit that bill. Welcome aboard Mark..may your stay with us be blessed with trophies aplenty and many opportunities to contribute to the legend of the blue nation and leave your mark. KTBFFH.

Remember we wanted to sign a goal keeper because of our home grown status...now we have 6 and moses is one of them, now that moses is linked with a move out that means we would have to bring two in which for me its going to be an English CF and we will keep one of our English players either of Josh or Chalobah!

I can't work out 100%if Schwarzer is "home grown" or not, the rule is that a club, from from 2010 require at least 8 of the named 25 man squad to be made up of 'home-grown players', defined as a player who: "irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Welsh Football Association for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)". Mark was way past 21 when he signed for Bradford, unlike his countryman, Brad Jones who was young enough when he joined his first English club, Middlesborough. So unless I'm missing something, Mark doesn't qualify but still a sensible signing

We have signed schwarzer, a decent keeper on his day and a stop gap keeper who blackman would learn from his experience and petr cech too, he will surely be released after one year and courtois would come back here and try to wrest the no.1 spot from cech

@anAlooish..he doesn't qualify as homegrown..now that we need a CF and a DM,1 has to be English and neither of josh and moses should be allowed to leaave,iF any of them leaves then both has to be English...

I didn't really mean we sign defoe...I just said that because of those who say we don't need rooney when they know our home grown status is short by 1...may be they would prefer defoe...#just being sarcastic
