'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Heading Towards a Tribunal?

Last week, we ran an article whereby we covered Chelsea`s interest in the youngest player to pull on a West Bromwich Albion shirt in the clubs history.

Isaiah Brown had just passed his 16th birthday when he made his debut for West Brom but, previous to that, he`d been part of the West Brom squad that had travelled to Stamford Bridge.

Extracting information from the press this morning, it would appear that our plans to bring Isaiah Brown to Stamford Bridge are on track apart from the small matter of West Brom, as you`d expect, rejecting our bid meaning that if we are successful in altering his career path then any fee will be set by a tribunal!

We repeatedly keep getting caught in these youth player chases, that doesn't do our image any good. We need to find a way, to pay the correct price for the young boys, the cost that the parent club spent on their development. Now a tribunal will decide the fee. There are kinks to be worked out in the recruitment policy, as I mentioned in the Emenalo thread yesterday. We are presumed as poachers of young kids, and this will change if we alter our way of doing business. Isaiah is an english lad, hope we give him a platform. Other such examples of raids for english kids on fellow PL clubs or mostlu championship clubs have turned sour. Kids like Micheal Woods and few more are now nowhere, instead having to play in 2nd division clubs!!

I really hope we don't get the kakuta issue once again, I believe we should pay for a player if we want him, but not overpay, this kid is one of the best young talents in the game, I really hope he won't be another flash in the pan

Oh no, not Kakuta 2.0
@Mq
Don't you just wonder what it is with tell these young players that always make them want to come and ply their trade with us. Even when they know how difficult it is to break into our first team. Is it Cobhams, our wonderful training centre??
