Benteke Update (10/07/13)

Benteke Update (10/07/13)

The Benteke to Chelsea rumours continue to generate column inches in the press this morning.

Keeping it short, but to the point, it is being reported that Benteke favours a move to Spurs (probably due to the lack of competition there) but Aston Villa (if the player is to be sold) would prefer the deal to be done with Chelsea.

Personally, I`m not sure there`s any real substance in the rumour with Benteke being very similar, in style, to Romelu Lukaku!

No idea! Daily mail make up a story on us everyday. Mirror is reporting Jose told Torres that he is in his plans. Plus Lukaku and Ba are already training with him.

I am of the opinion that we don't need him, there is no way he can thrive with us cos lukaku is already here, except we want to sell lukaku and buy benteke then their will be no worries, would any1 want us to sell lukaku for benteke? No I doubt it

I said it when the news broke out.....He aint coming to Chelsea. He is a good player no doubt but we cant sign everyone! Spurs seems to be his destination and thats perhaps why they are refusing to pay the 25mil Aston Villa requested.

Guys did you see Lukaku last season at west brom? I havent seen him, but what i remember of him at chelsea was that his first touch was really bad. Did he improve on that aspect? Because if he hasn't, then I wouldn't mind selling him and buyin Benteke to be honest.

@Carloss86-- we invested 18 mill pounds on the lad and he banged in 17 goals in the PL last season, so he deserves a chance with us. He's improved in many things at West brom and will improve further. Selling him at this point is unthinkable!!!!!!!!

^^^Spot 'fecking' on @Carloss!!! Heavens know I love The Kraken and all, but I've always found his first touch too AndyCarroll-esque for me. Nice to see someone else also noticing the FACT. >>>I heard his preference for Spuds since last week(goddamit!!!) though one can only advise the youngster to draw inspiration from the likes of F. Torres + D. Villa for Spain who through the years play alternately with an incredible 198 caps between them. Or isn't he already Belgium's No.9? Doesn't he want Champions League footie again plus a five-man strong Belgian contingent @the Bridge? Oh well...but wherever he chooses to ply his trade he better be rest assured The Kraken will always remain in the Belgian NT contention. And woe betide him if his supposed 'adversary' clicks perfectly with the other Belgium first teammers in our fold, the De Bruynes and the Hazards, where he'd find it even harder to retain or usurp the first CF role from The Kraken. Dailymail is the british version of MAR'D'CA in spain, the only suprising thing about this article is that spuds fans haven't troll this site despite dailymail's report suggesting he 'd favour a move to that wee club called spuds A.K.A 3points lane.

Lukuka has a bad first touch. People need to stop bashing players based on hearsay.

@Syed I really like Lukaku. He's a Chelsea fan and has a big heart apparently, but i think that's not the most important factor to consider. For instance, a certain Didier Drogba didn't want to come to Chelsea at first, but Jose convinced him and the rest is history. What I would really focus on is on quality. Lukaku has some strenghts but from the little I saw him at Chelsea he didn't seem to be a technical player. His first touch was very very bad, but if he improved then we should give him a chance. If not, lets go for Benteke imo. Then again, I have seen Lukaku only a few times, so i cant judge him, thats why i asked how was his link up at West Brom. Stats can be deceiving, Torres scored more than 20 goals last season yet we want him out!

Lukaku has a good first touch. The game where he was bad was in preseason. Everybody was bad in preseason.
