De Rossi may finally be coming!

Breaking news this morning reports that Chelsea may finally be getting their wish to sign Daniele De Rossi.

It appears that the doors to a deal have been kicked wide open following an agreement between PSV Eindhoven and Roma for the £15 million acquisition of Kevin Strootman.

Jose Mourinho has always admired De Rossi and tried signing him at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

But this is the part I am worried about, the supposed deal is on a weekly walary of £110,000 for 4 years.

Personally, I would have preferred 2 years before renewal.

De Rossi is good, cheap (an £11m fee reportedly agreed) but he will be 30 in October, is that something we should concern ourselves about?

He will be 30 this month I think. Any ways if the media has strongly linked us with someone claiming agreed deals etc, it hasn't happened. We have been doing our business quietly. We may go for someone entirely different or maybe no one at all. So if De Rossi comes, it will be great, but I'll wait till it's announced.........A player of his stature won't come on a 2 year deal, that's a fact.

yeah , like syed said , we are doing business cia style . but if he comes , 4 years is a good deal . when his contract run out , he might be retiring from football . one year contract extension for 30+ player ? no problem .

I keep saying thàt we are more linked to the KGB or FSB than the CIA. Lol. Afterall Roman is a Russian not an American. Not that I mind us doing business like either of them except the NSA (Snowden). De Rossi would have learnt from the Ruddy episode and is probably pushing hard for the deal knowing a certain Flamini is out there free

The truth is De Rossi will come for the said £11m only IF our teenage full-back Wallace is included as sweetener to the deal, so I scooped. Four years isn't that bad though a 3-year deal IMO should've been perfect. We're almost there...just one CF and the 'new Ronaldo' left, I guess. The Mancs, Scums and a-very-Butthead's Spuds must be scared stiff right now... I'm lovin' it ;)

De Rossi will be a good acquisition if signed imo. With the number of attacking players we have,a midfield general is needed to add steel in midfield.

As per rumours, if we're actually letting Mikel go then I think we need a tried and tested DM in the mould of De Rossi. Eventhough some would still advocate for another DM needless of what happens to Mikel. To add to what Oscarr said these Italians age like wine, so I wouldn't be much concerned about his age. There was another story of an inclusion of Wallace on a season loan in the deal. I think that would be Jose's call.

In De rossi we have an experience Italian with 3-4yrs active football in him. De rossi will do more good than harm and will also serve as a mentor to the likes of Nathaniel,MvG and others. Old+youth= right balance.

Who cares? Ambrosini at 35 owned the Barca midfield until that young striker killed the game for Milan. Derossi is what we absolutely need. Bring on the Supercup!!!!

The same thing we said about Pirlo and see what we missed. Experience is needed to win trophies, just ask Arsenal
