Old Friend Returning to England?

Old Friend Returning to England?

Last summer, many lamented the departure of Raul Meireles.

The Portuguese midfielder had played an inspirational role in our march to the Champions League Final and many thought he had, at least, another season in him.

However, sold he was and Fenerbahce, in Turkey, was his destination.

Well it transpires that all isn`t well over in Turkey and that Meireles could be heading back to the Premier League for a stint with a third different Premier League club.

Apparently, according to one news source, the 30 year-old is on the radar of Paulo Di Canio, at Sunderland.

If Raul does return to the Premier League, I`m sure he`ll get a tremendous reception from the Stamford Bridge faithful when the two sides clash!

He would be a good signing for Sunderland. To this day his transfer still baffles me!! Never got the point!! At 30 now he would be still good to be with us another 3 years or so....... Anyways all the best to him if this move happens, I am sure he will be well received at the Bridge.

He was very big in our champions League triumph, and because of bais and curry favour he and Essien were sold/loaded so the dudee in the # 8 shirt would get game time. He is good player to have as he can play in multiple positions and has a good work ethic. Wish him all the best.

I have respect and admiration for Raul. He was immense for us in a number of games. I reckon that quite a bit of our struggle would have been reduced if we hadn't sold him and loaned Essien last season. The board made a costly blunder. He is one of our Miracle Men. I will always be Grateful. A player who can play with Passion and Heart. Best Wishes Raul!
