We all ask ourselves how do all these quality players fit in.
Well I did the maths, and I came up with my best solution.
Well since Mourinho says he wants 22 players that is a 1st and 2nd team.
Line up for 1st team (my team);-
Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz, Cole, Ramires, Van Ginkel, Hazard, Mata, De Bruyne, Lukaku.
For my 2nd team;-
Cech, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Bertrand, Mikel, Lampard, Essien, Moses, Schurrle, Oscar, Torres.
Things to note,
(1) This may not be the managers team selection, but for article sake I made it up.
(2) Ba and some other players may be sold or loaned out to get 22 players.
(3) Injuries, suspensions, benching and others may change that team.
(4) 3 subs are for 1st team or 2nd team players at the match, according to the coaches tactical decisions, so different players sub in all the season
(5) You do the final calculations as to how many games each player gets. lol!
Okay we got 4 competitions)
(1) EPL = 1st team starts against top 11 sides (ie) Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Villa, Everton, Swansea, Manchester City, Southampton, Fulham.
2nd team=lesser 8 EPL sides (ie) Cardiff, West Ham, Stoke, Norwich, Hull City, Sunderland, West Brom.
Now remember note (4) = 3 subs each so when 1st team are playing 2nd team (3) subs come on. An vice versa. Remember note (3) & (4) this will roughly give us (1st) team = 22games (2nd)team =16games.
2nd competition Champions League) for this one I will guess we reach the quarter-finals that is a run of (10) games. Now the (1st ) team will start most games due to experience and maybe (2) games for (2nd)team.
Against lesser sides. So it will be (1st) team = (8) games and (3) (2nd) team subs coming on. For 2nd team the same for (2) games with (3) (1st) teamers coming on. Again remember note (3) & (4). So roughly (1st) team + (2nd) team = 10 games
3rd competition FA Cup - for this one we reach semis. (8) games. We have (2nd) team starting (6) games, (3) 1st team subs. and (1st) team (2).and (3) second team subs. Remember note (1), (3) & (4).
So roughly equals (1st) team + (2nd) = 8games.
For Carling Cup games. We have 8games (2nd) team starts all with (3) 1st team subs each match. So there we go, after my honest analysis, you may have yours too but, we all anticipate rotation.
Remember note (5) . Now I leave you to do your total calculations for game time each player, with all the uncertainties and more players coming in.
So the floor is yours. Thanks
