25 Man Premier League Squad Announced

Chelsea have named their 25 man Premier League squad and it is compiled as thus:-

Home grown first - John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Gary Cahill, Ryan Bertrand

Non home grown - Petr Cech, Andre Schurrle, David Luiz, Mark Schwarzer, Kevin De Bruyne, Juan Mata, Branislav Ivanovic, Cesar Azplicueta, Ramires, Oscar, John Obi Mikel, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba, Eden Hazard, Michael Essien, Willian, Samuel Et`o

Players under the age of 21 are eligible to be picked outside of the 25-man squad.

No surprises there. 23 + 2 (MVG, Kalas) is a deeper squad with better quality.............Interesting that Essien hasn't made a single appearance till now and has been left off the CL squad list, which is really weird.

Essien having a bad week,lost his dad and has been left out of the UCL list..massive squad we've got there,my only worries lies in the CDM and ST positions

• Clubs have no obligation to put a certain number of homegrown players on the field of play, or on the matchsheet. They are entirely free in their team and matchday squad selection. Hope Jose has read this part of the rules for homegrown players...because I expect this rubbish midfield to be fixed when next we play. He needs to remove the glaring weakness that he has imposed on the team with the constant starting of the dude in the #8 shirt and save face. He should be more than a little ashamed that he went to United to get a draw while Liverpool went to win...and did...with an inferior squad. Sad for Essien who has been nothing but loyal and devoted to the club...but his reward will come in short order I hope. Hoping we can get a good roll going before Spurs and Man City.

This squad is strong enough to win a treble if we have luck on our side and if it is properly managed, but I'll take a PL crown and probably and FA cup this season. Solid squad

The most fluid, attacking Chelsea side imo would be: Cech---(Cole-Iva-Luiz-Azpi)-(Essien/Mikel-Ramires)-(Willian-Mata-Hazard)-(Eto'o.) Azpi should be Right back, Iva has always been better in the middle, Lampard and Terry inclusions as first team players will cost Chelsea.

Mata does not fit well in the counter attacking style of JM, but without him pulling the strings it will be tough to break doen opponents. Also, Torres up front always a disaster. Still goes running headfirst into defenders, losing possession, with constant failed dribble attempts. The poll is asking aviut the transfer window, a Fernando Torres Exit would have beeb an excellent transfer window.

different news! Falcao can leave AS Monaco at january for Real, ManUtd or CHELSEA! Its a special clause in his contract. ANYONE?? January?? Is he the reason why chelsea didnt buy another expensive striker during the summer? i think YES!

NO! Not necessarily, as the said clause has a €60m fee enshrined in it. Now tell me what sense it makes not snapping up the Columbian in the summer for £50m and swapping/flogging Torres for ~ £20m-25m[or heck, Demba Ba] when they were yet potential takers, to offset the cost? Makes little or no sense to me whatsoever considering FFP and the Eto'o one-year £7m deal. And btw, remember Abramovich's infamous Ipad App?!? I'm sorry, but Falcao may have to remain the "one that got away".
