'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Name the Starting XI - Newcastle (a)

This Saturday lunchtime we`re at St James Park, for a 12:45 kick-off, to take on a troubled Newcastle United side.

After the splendid performances against Manchester City (Premier League) and Arsenal (Capital One Cup), two performances that saw Jose Mourinho field almost entirely different sides, with Gary Cahill being the only common denominator, it`ll certainly be interesting to see who makes Jose`s starting eleven this Saturday.

Did any of those who performed so well, against Arsenal, do enough to dislodge their counter-parts that beat Manchester City?

Will a trip to Newcastle be a case of horses for courses?

Or will Jose see the early kick-off as the chance to take the fight to the rest of the Premier League, take the three points and sit proudly on top of the Premier League table?

Three interesting questions posed and three questions you may like to take into consideration when you try and second guess Jose in our usual feature ahead of a fixture.

Right, who`ll get me started and get the ball rolling?

If its based on who performed well against mancity/arsenal, my preferred eleven would be cech azplicueta cahill terry betrand ramires lampard hazard willian oscar torres, but mourinho knows best. Looking forward to a resounding win. KTBFFH:)
don delsy
Traore welcome home, anyone who knows his best/preffered position in the field?

blue5
Sorry, apzi for me would replace iva.
blue5
we didn't do well over there last season and am sure Terry would be raring to go due to his error there last time. We need to consolidate on our winning run and let's hope liverpool can do us a great favour by drawing with le arse. (yea draw, i don't need them to win) though arsenal seems to know how to thump them smh. And congrats to traore i always know the club would handle his situation.
kolagold25
@nely, i dont see kakuta making it into chelsea team again IMHO. I hope he proves me wrong though
kolagold25
Newcastle will be difficult...cech...iva,luiz,terry,cole....rami,mikel....willian,mata,hazard...torres.
oscarr
Yeah..congrats to willian he gets brazil call up for the up coming internationals.
oscarr
same here,I don't see kakuta making it at chelsea, but talking about bertrand traore, now that he has signed for us,is he eligible to play our next carling cup game? Or will he have to wait until january?
Hazard11
I don't see oscar not starting the game, especially when he didn't feature in the COC game except jose wants to rest him for the UCL game next midweek,I think the line up will be the same players that started against city and if there is going to be any difference it will be willian coming on for schurlle
Hazard11
Willian gets called up by brazil! Good things starting to happen for the lad
Hazard11
Yes Hazard11, same reason the smart lad chose to have his medical @Spuds only to sign for us the bigger, elitist and more visible club; he'd most probably still be stuck in the 3point Lane unwashed abyss had he chosen unwisely. Glad for him and Traore as well ;)
HGH Magic
I was thinking , that we would have to sign Traore before the January window..Other clubs would have been circling for sure ..
Blue_Mel
Hey ...@Hazard...good things starting to happen for Chelsea :o)
Blue_Mel
Im well pleased about Traore...its made my day !!! Yeah!
Blue_Mel
One thing that might spoil our chance of the quadruple is complacency ...lets not see ANY team as a walkover ..
Blue_Mel
Cech, ivanovic, cahill, terry, cole, rammy, mikel, mata, hazard, willian and torres subs: lampard*,eto'o and de bruyne, schurrle can start against schalke or get a brief cameo against castle in place of eto'o

Good news that Traore has finally put pen to paper. His work permit is still an issue though. He's not eligible unless the club does something now. If he's called for one more international match it will do much good getting the permit. And this boy looks different from our hyped youngsters we've seen before from what i've seen thus far. I had to do alot of research about him having not watched him in the pre-season. He's a real deal.
BOTUM
{Cech} {iva, terry, luiz, cole} {rami, lamps} {willian, oscar, hazard} {torres} bench: schwazer, schurrle, cahill, mata, mikel, cesar, berty
BOTUM
Cech; Ivanovich, Luis, Terry, Cole; Mikel, Ramires; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Torres.
Tobe Enoch
It's safe to say the consensus seems to be a front four of Hazard, Oscar, Willian and Torres; with a Rami-Mikel pivot, though there are members who reckon Oscar will somehow not start the match! Let's see if Jose ever reads these boards. Interesting. Lol
HGH Magic
Cech.iva.luis.terry.cole.mikel.ramires.williams.mata.hazard&torres.
chuks09
HGH curious to see what Mou does in terms of Oscar/Mata with a game saturday and then a CL game mid week.
Pavel Permiachkin
Yeah Pavel, curious and interesting though what a great 'problem' it is to have ;)
HGH Magic
Cech, Ferreira, Carvalho, Terry, Bridge, Tiago, Makalele, Lampard, Duff, Gudjohnsen, Joe Cole
foreign_viewer
I. Will put drogba. In that line up@ fv
Finney_angel
I think I prefer blue5's lineup.....forgive me,but am a bit so biased towards the Mazarcar combo and Azpi as RB
Samuel Chimezie
Cech, ivanovic, terry, liuz, cole, ramires, lampard, hazard, oscar, mata, torres
