'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What a Farce?

Anyone who is, how they say, a little long in the tooth, will certainly remember Frank Sinclair.

Whilst not blessed as being one of the most skilful players to pull on our shirt what he lacked in that department he more than made up for with his enthusiasm and never-say-die attitude.

These days Frank is cutting his teeth in the managerial game and on Saturday he was involved in a controversial incident.

Managing Colwyn Bay, in an FA Trophy game, against Altincham, Colwyn Bay found themselves 2-0 down as the game entered the final ten minutes and facing an early exit from the competition.

But, with seven minutes of normal time remaining, the referee, Mark Ackerman picked up an injury and had to leave the field of play.

Desperate attempts to find somebody to run the line, with the original referee`s assistant taking over the whistle, resulted in somebody stepping forward who didn`t have the necessary qualifications,

Frank, much to the anger of the Altincham club, objected to this replacement whilst also suggesting he may have had the odd drink or two.

Subsequently, the game was abandoned and despite fearing that the FA might ask for only the remaining 7 minutes to be played the decision announced today has deemed that the complete FA Trophy tie should be replayed.

So it looks as if Frank got a result but can you imagine the fuss if Colwyn Bay wins the replayed game!

Hahahaha! Absolutely hilarious. Frank's always been one heck of a character. Frank referring the game and awarding Colwyn Bay 3 penalties in 7 mins would have been more hilarious. Has a date been scheduled for the replay yet? Would be nice to keep an eye on this one.
