So Who Will We Draw?

With Chelsea safely into the knockout stages, having topped the group, we now have to wait until Monday to see who we are drawn against in the first knockout round.

However, as you are probably all aware, the manner in which the competition unravels means that the sides we can be drawn against are strictly limited.

For starters we are unable to face anybody from our own group again, so that rules out Schalke 04.

We`re also unable to meet a side from our own country, which rules out Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Plus we`re also unable to cross-swords with any other the other group winners.

Which leaves us contemplating a tie against one of the following sides:-

AC Milan,
Galatasaray,
Olympiakos,
Zenit St Petersburg
Bayer Leverkusen

So which one of the five will it be?

can't be done but I wish we could draw Arseanal lol ;-)
HGH Magic
But seriously Zenit would represent the best draw for me, seeing as they qualified with the lowest points total of 6, if I'm not mistaken; but 'knowing' UEFA it'll probably be Galatasaray or Milan!
HGH Magic
the matter is not who will we draw but when are we going to see our club playing good football? i am a big fan of jose but to be honest the guy is killing our game, he need to be adviced, that bryne whether he like him or not he is a good player. Finally i hate mourinho now completly.

I prefer Olympiakos. At this rate, when we already enter the knockout stage and we have a big chance to progress to quarter final, I just want our team take this chance because this season we and Man Utd have the biggest chance to make progress to the latter stage compare to our rivals. Bayern, Madrid, Barca, PSG, Man City, and Arsenal will possibly eliminate each other on the 2nd round which mean we have reduce 2 big opponents. So how to make the most of the chance? I said either Falcao or Suarez and a great DLP, someone like De Rossi(example) who didn't cup tied. Before many will ask me the question, "another buy again???!!! so let me explain first. This is not about a buy, this is about stand a chance to taste 2nd CL glory, when u have a big chance like now, where the situation is pointing to our side. so why we wouldn't want to make the most of it, would u?
Chelsea n Torres Fan
give this team to a coach who is not a hater i bet you we are going to enjoy, ( guus hiddink, pep, klop) problem solved
habbo
what do you mean by " hater "??? and you would really feel comfortable with a coach like pep?
Don capon
Olympiakos would do. A quarter final run would be respectable.
syed230183_chelseafc
Jose said he need Galatasaray so maybe that one too, but seriously we need to get our act together no team is weak anymore nomater who we draw best of luck anyway
OBEX
Galatasaray would be great for nostalgia but I have a feeling the failure to give Drogba that 2 year contract could come back to haunt us. One things for sure every team will want to draw Chelsea but that doesn't mean we won't reach the QF.
CobhamBlue
Ozil to meet his former club. Drogba to meet his former club. Yaya to meet his former club. ..

Olympiacos for me...not feeling risky. Olympiacos and hope that Milan takes out PSG and we face them, or Bayer takes out a big dog so we can have a favorable draw in for the quarters...once we're in the semis (I pray so hard for this) we'll have our act together and who knows...
Gian-Franco/Luca
Zenit for me any day. They are very inconsistent of late.
jollyheart Torres
Look at your posts people. You sound like Chelsea got knocked out and is 15th in the league. gosh
zg2000fs
zg2000fs u got to admit that every group runners up pray to meet us rather than any other group winners. we're the team that can even get knockout by Basel, the sitting 3rd in our group!
Chelsea n Torres Fan
I'd go with Olympiacos,a win win situation for me. One of the easiest fixtures, and a chance for me to visit Piraeus, Greece.
nelyvanile
CNTFan - I don't pray, but if I did, it would be for those teams to get their wish granted.
zg2000fs
What I mean is, whoever gets Chelsea won't be that happy after the games.
zg2000fs
@Chelsea n Torres Fan. The knockout stages is an entirely different ball game. It's not about points,or how beautiful u played,or the beautiful goals you scored, but more about the tactical approach in eliminating ur opponent. Very few want to engage in a tactical battle with Jose regardless of the squad...The Super Cup game against Bayern a pretty good example of what to expect in terms of tactics from Jose in cup games.
nelyvanile
Yes it's a different story nelyvanile. but those team knew they stand a better chance against us where they can get something out in the games. we're the group winner with the least point even in the one of the easiest group to be honest. but I still have faith in our team that we can do much much better than this. And I hope that is the case zg2000fs, "whoever gets chelsea won't be that happy after the games"..
Chelsea n Torres Fan
*better chance against us compare to other group winners
Chelsea n Torres Fan
i am fine with the greek, turkish or russian team. but lately anyone seems to fancy scoring against us and in k.o. stage it cud be fatal.
Blue Krusaders
zg2000, how so? Or you mean on playstation again mate? Also, you mean you can only constructively criticise when Chelsea are 15th in the league and not before, irrespective of performances or results?!? Hmmm....
HGH Magic
Give me olympiacos, and its a perfect draw for me!
