Man Arrested After Attacking Mourinho

Man Arrested After Attacking Mourinho

Reports say a man has been arrested by the London Metropolitan Police after allegedly attacking Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and a couple of players with a laser pen during the Champions League encounter with Steaua Bucharesti at Stamford Bridge.

Confirming the report, Mourinho said he had been 'zapped' by the pen which is believed was shone from the away end of the stadium.

He said: "I was aware of it, but I cannot be worried about that when the game is going on. I don't know if it creates any kind of problem, and during the game I felt it a couple of times, but not big."

"I felt the green laser, but I felt no pain, so I kept going."

It could be recalled that Chelsea gave the Romanian side the blues via a 10th winner by Demba Ba to finish top of Group E, but the game was marred by the laser attack, which also involved Oscar and Eden Hazard; and the Metropolitan Police has now confirmed a man in connection with the incident has been arrested and detained in a West London police station for further investigation.

Right now details are sketchy though we will endeavour to bring to you further details of this dastardly show of hooliganism as they unfold, even as we wish the culprit(s) will soon be brought to book and have the book thrown at, by the appropriate authorities, to serve as a deterrent to future offenders.

But who do you think was the attacker in question or what were his motives? Perhaps you want to tell us a bit more about laser attack and its possible effects on humans, especially sportsmen?

That is a wake up call to Mou to change his way of play and blame game.the style sucks, his favouratism is killing players motivation.why cant he just drop his pride and use what other managers did to help the team.whats wrong with playing with more attacking players, as opposed to two defensive pivot players. Talking about good or attracting football speaks alot on how we have clueless cfc fans.cfc has never had one style of play, and that has costed them alot in epl and ucl compared to the likes of madrid, baca, milan, bayarn who won many cups than cfc.all this teams played good football and still try to improve.now english teams with puff n huff just reflects that when playing in WCs...hence what do they have to show off to teams like spain, brazil, german.chile and even japan.i bet to u,that teams will have to adopt attractive style of play to reach top or the coming WC WILL PROVE ME WRONG.i rest my care.

@mzee69, I think you are on the wrong thread, how does your tantrum co-relate with the matter at hand concerning our players and manager being zapped with a laser pen, huh? some cfc fans wouldn't hesitate to seize the opportunity to moan on any thread, even when it has nothing to do with matchday threads. Amazing.

mzee69 - World Cup has no parallels in League football. I don't know how long you've been asleep, but every league in the world now employs foreign players. You should probably just "rest your care" a little more, as it appears to be acting up...
