Mata`s Going Nowhere

Mata`s Going Nowhere

Over the weekend the inference, in the press, was that the Bavarian giants of Bayern Munich were looking to snare Juan Mata.

In doing so Bayern would be, supposedly, up against Paris St Germain and Napoli, both of whom have already declared their interest in the 25 year-old midfielder.

However, it would appear from the words of Jose Mourinho that Mata is going nowhere implying that he will stay and he will get his chance alter in the season.

Following the excellent 2-0 win over Hull City, at the KC Stadium, Jose Mourinho remarked about the player who most Chelsea supporters would hate to be sold,

"The midfielders are playing very well and the team is playing very well. But we need other players."

"If the game against Hull had stayed 0-0 then Mata was coming into the game as he is a fantastic player."

"But the game went in another direction, we scored and then after that my brain worked in another way."

So there we have it, or do we?

then after that my brain worked in another way. lol. All i ask from mata is that he should fight, strife and sweat it to win back his place (and prove that special person he is once again) which he hasn't so far. I mean even our legends have got to fight several times in their careers with us. He is really giving me little reason to support him

The Season is Long. We still have a lot of games to play. Mata will get chances. He has to seize the opportunities that will be given to him. He has to force his way into the starting 11 like Willian. Remember that Willian didn't get any preferential treatment from Jose in the beginning. He started many games as a substitute/late substitute. He is now almost undroppable. The competition for places is stiff. Mata has to deliver stellar performances. Best of luck Juan.

kola: well said mate. Even Drogba faced stiff competition and had to sit on the bench. He was at times dropped for Anelka … Torres … Terry has been really impressive this season. He has revived his career. Many thought that he was finished last season.

What's the point of keeping Mata, when he can't physically do what Jose wants. Willian is a superb footballer, with pace and skill and like I said several times in the last few weeks, team him up with Azpi on the right and they can be a special partnership together.

What happens if Oscar/Willian/Hazard gets Injured? We need Mata and Andre. Squad Depth is Vital. Look at Bayern's Squad. City's also impressive.

As much as I love Mata, I think he needs to move to save his career becos believe me without no injuries, JM won't be first choice again. He jst dosn't av the work rate/tireless running of Willian; he's jst not that type of a player. So as much as I'll like to see him stay, I love his career more and I think its time for him to move.

Mata will get his chance. He needs to be patient and accept that there is more competition now. I'm pretty sure Mourinho will start using him more.

I really do not get this Mata will get his chances business - this guy has appeared 17 times this season. He is getting the chances and when he gets them he is not doing any justice to himself. Lets be honest - the players getting the nod ahead of him are playing far much better than he does when he starts. Noone is making noise for Schurrle who is playing even less than Mata. Willian came into the team and took the opportunity with open hands and you can see him putting a good shift, same with Oscar and Hazard. Why should Mata be treated any differently.
14/01/2014 02:46:00
Mata should leave. When Mourinho doesn't like a player it's over. Quaresma, Wright-Philips, Kaka, Cassillas and now Mata.
14/01/2014 03:00:00
mata is going no where, I think he'll make use of his chances one of these days.
14/01/2014 08:45:00
Placing CFC needs above any specific player means that we cannot be sentimental, maybe he is not in Mourinho's immediate plans, but he is a great player who will improve any team once he signs. If anyone wants him...they m,ust understand that the price is at least 37 million...he is on contract and he should stay, unless Monaco comes in with a 40 million bid.
14/01/2014 09:52:00
mata should be sold...we dont need him we have creative players like rami mikel lamps in the midfiled who are better than him in creating chances...thats why mata needs to be sold..he is not good enough he shouldnt be getting any special treatment by jose becasue that special treatment is only preserved for our so called legend lamps and no one....lamps deserved special treatment because he is our legend and his jose matter how bad he plays he has to be in the first team...he is our future and not mata...jose you are great your philosphy of making people blind faith in you is too good..
