He`s Just Too Good!

Thankfully!

With Petr Cech having, recently, stuck himself at the top of the pile, Chelsea-wise, as far as a record number of clean sheets is concerned, it`ll be interesting to see what Jose Mourinho decides to do with Thibaut Courtois come the end of the season.

Over in Spain, Courtois continues to enhance a growing reputation whilst on loan at Atletico Madrid. In fact his displays have convinced the Atletico Madrid club president, Enrique Cerezo, that he is the best in Europe and wants to make the current loan deal a permanent one.

Quotes in the press from Cerezo read,

"Courtois is incredible on the pitch. We are interested but the price is too much for a keeper."

"We want to try to do business, but it depends on Chelsea. We must study everything."

"But for me it is clear that Courtois is now the best goalkeeper in Europe."

Valued at around £20 million it would appear that we should be thankful that Courtois is so good he`s priced himself out of a permanent move to Atletico Madrid.

he is a player we must not sell, I know athletico would want to think they have a bargaining power with our reported interest in Diego Costa, but we need both in our team next season, if by chance they ask for another loan deal for courtois, then we can release him on two conditions on loan, Thibaut should sign a 4 years extension on his current contract and athletico should pay 2m as a season long loan fee.

Goalscorers will always command a premium over keepers or any other position but once every 5 years or so a very special keeper comes along. Courtois is such a keeper but so is big Pete & he's a long way from being past his best. You could argue that he never actually reached his best due to the head injury but I know he'd disagree. Regardless of that, the level he is at is about as good as anyone else in the 40 odd years I've been watching football; the club really do have a huge decision to make at season end as in (EXCEPTIONAL) goalkeeper years, he's still young..

I don't like this situation of Petr and Courtois; it's a big big dilemma. That said, I don't like the fact that we put a measly 20m on him; if we are putting any price on him, it should be a minimum of 35m. But I would love to see TC don our jersey.

We were interested in aguero and falcao, they quoted ridiculous fees for them..now its our turn,TC asking price should be in the region of 30-40mil,lets show them we are also hard-bargainers

20 mn is ridiculous. sud be atleast 30 mn but the price sud be just to scare suitors away , no way we sud sell him.

This is really some dilemma!!! Big Pete is a legend already at CFC and still has about at least 5 to 6 years at the top. But are we going to lose the next best goalkeeper of his generation that can give us another 10 to 15 years of active service? This is a case of someone farting in your mouth and adding salt, you can neither swallow his fart nor spit out the salt.

TC should come back and possibly go on loan to a PL team next season. Let him cut his teeth with the boys in England. This prep will allow us another season or even 2 to make a decision as it's currently a very hectic one to make. lain reckon 2 seasons for a PL team, then one as our 2nd choice / pushing for starts and then rotate him with Cech to then take over. Although, this is easier said than done I spose...

Courtois has to brought in next season, unless he's happy for another loan season.Cech is still playing well but Courtois is ten years younger and it's vital we keep him.Cech has been superb for us over the years but Courtois is now more important to the club, because of his age.

I agree that his price shouldn't be anything less than 30M... I think I'll be fine with which ever way the club goes on this issue, it's a really tough one...

yea Buffon went to Juve for 50m euros... Courtois has everything to be the next Buffon, or even better !... we should not be fooled by Athletico... remember they paid Porto more than 40 million euros to activate Falcao's release clause...... they have money when they want to spend.... they are just acting like Arsenal...... if we're ever going to sell him (I'm totally against it though) swap him for Costa, or 30m pounds at least

come next season, courtois and legendary pete plays together in chelsea. None is loaned out, none is sold, they play together. My two cents

TC should never have been allowed to stay at AM for so long, he has a deeper attachment with the club now, than merely a player 'on loan'. He should have been moved around Europe, particularly to the PL, on a yearly basis. If we are not careful, the same will happen with Lukaku, although in his case, his usefulness to Chelsea is not yet proven.

What?!! 0520M for a keeper of such quality? NO. He's worth more than that. Maybe 0525-0530M is good business

To me TC needs to be very patient, If Chelsea had bought him and didn't loan him and keep him like turnbull no one would have notice how good he is so he needs to come back and fight Cech for the number one spot just like cech did to cudicinni. As for Atletico they want to act smart, loaning TC to them enabled them to sell Degea for so much money and now they want to buy TC for less than what they sold De gea for and will end up getting one of the best keeper in the world for nothing. No way we should sell TC to anyone, he needs to come back to fight for his place to prove how good he is
