Match Day Moments - Newcastle (h)

Match Day Moments - Newcastle (h)

This afternoon, with Southern England expecting a huge storm to hit sometime today, Chelsea will be hoping to successfully conclude business against Newcastle before the weather makes a mockery of events.

Buoyed after a good decent run of results that included that marvellous 1-0 win away to Manchester City on Monday night, Chelsea supporters will be hoping that Jose Mourinho`s side will be able to keep the run going, plus, there`s also the small matter of gaining revenge for the 2-0 win we suffered up at St James Park earlier this season.

With the games coming thick and fast, we`ve another Premier League fixture at the Hawthorns this Tuesday evening, it`ll be interesting to see who makes the starting eleven.

So why not join us for our regular feature when, from midday, we`ll be keeping an eye on the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture before debating the starting eleven Jose has opted for, the possible tactics and the action as it unfolds at Stamford Bridge.

Could it be another amazing ninety minutes like those we witnessed at the Etihad Stadium?

@ tunez, maybe a draw would be good for us. Liverpool are getting to close for my liking and the arse have a very tough two months coming up and I would be very surprised if they are still in it by then. We need to break them down and get an early goal, that will make them go for it then we can score many. come on you blues.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard on BBC1’s Football Focus "We've beaten possibly the best team in the league but we can't waste that against Newcastle. "We're at Chelsea and this is a club where you're obliged to try to win something every year. We'll be in the title race until the wire. It will be a tasty end to the season and we have to wait to see how many trophies we can win."

Mark Lawrenson on Football Focus, Football Analyst "I think Jose Mourinho called Chelsea a 'little horse' because he hasn't got the striker that he wants and that's the only reason. They've got outstanding players and experience but if they had a world-class striker they wouldn't be a little horse. "If you talk about Chelsea, how well has John Terry done because of Mourinho?"

report on Twitter indicates both terry and Willian are out of the game due to injury and compassion for Willian for the death of his ex team mate maicon of shakter, don't know how true the Willian part of the rumour is but there are confirmation from multiple sources on jt's absence

that said, I think we have adequate replacement for the duo, we can bring Azpi back to the right, Ashley Cole back to his natural position at lb, and we can use ivanovic as a pairing for Cahill, we might use Luiz and play lampard along with matic in the pivot, play schurrle in place of Willian at LW with hazard moving to the right or start salah at RW to give him his debut, Jose says he is ready

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal - Martin Skrtel (1 min) No time to draw breath. Luis Suarez wins a free-kick out on the left for a pull by Per Mertesacker. Steven Gerrard whips in the set-piece and Martin Skrtel bundles in via his knee. A quick look to check the flag. It's stayed down so the party can start. Arsenal looked very unconvincing under that cross.
