Time to Kill the Horses

Time to Kill the Horses

Possibly still basking in the euphoria of Eden Hazard's first Chelsea hat-trick (and his career second) which secured a 3-0 win over Newcastle, boss Jose Mourinho reckons it's time to kill the horses.

Speaking to the press after the small matter of giving our Tyneside friends the blues late afternoon at Stamford Bridge, the Special One remarked:

"It's time to kill the horses,"

apparently referring to Arsenal and Man City who, though both capitulated 5-1 and 0-0 against Liverpool and Norwich City respectively, in his opinion are still favourites for the title.

"We are playing well. People individually are in a good moment, the team is getting results and we are top of the league.

"That is something that we can't hide, but I say the same and I feel the same. I don't change."

"A big result is always surprising,"

Mourinho added, on the poor results suffered by the "horses" today.

"When two big teams are playing against each other, you are never expecting such a big result, but sometimes it happens.

"Norwich is not easy. We beat them there in the last minutes.

"These are the results that can happen to any one of us. But when it happens to City it's more surprising, because City are City, their attacking power is fantastic, so when they get this kind of result, it's a bit surprising."

Prodded on to compare his little "little ponies" with his first Chelsea team, he continued:

"These people here are just starting and I don't want to compare.

"Potentially this team is good and hopefully we will have a good decade because only John (Terry) and Frank (Lampard) and a couple more are over 30, after that they are young guys with lots of years to play."

Not much to add as I'm sure folks can safely say the above is vintage Mourinho at his trolling best, but with the Arse's February collapse already in full bloom and City flattering to deceive lately (or have they run out of luck?), do you see Jose's ponies really giving the stuttering horses a sustained run for their monies to pip them to the title in the run-in?

Can a pony kill a horse?

My eyes are wide shut.

I also think I remember when the journalists asked him if all this talk of horses was mind games Jose had a little smile and said "I always play mind games" or words to that affect. It is just his way of taking pressure off the players, He believes we can win the league this year and so do I. You got to love the man, pure entertainment, so glad he is on our side again.
