'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chelsea Welcome Back Terry

At his press conference, ahead of the crucial clash with Everton this Saturday, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that John Terry will make a return to the starting eleven.

Terry, who was sorely missed against Manchester City, where Chelsea slipped to a 2-0 FA Cup defeat, has shaken off a muscle problem and returns with this blessing from Jose Mourinho,

'We have missed his leadership a bit. Many times we need a voice on the pitch.'

'Sometimes there are things to control, distances, defensive positions, sometimes I cannot communicate with them so to have someone with this kind of voice that can transmit what I need is also important.'

However, the news that Terry is back is dampened a little by the fact that our Brazilian defender / midfielder, David Luiz looks set to be out for several weeks with, what is described as, a muscle problem.

Muscular injuries creeping in on our CB's. Great to have JT back. But yes Luiz missing out dampens the news a bit.

with due respect to all on the site. i wished it was Ramires out for a few weeks... not Luiz. I can tolerate Luiz strictly in the midfield with Matic or Mikel but not Ramires. His abysmal ball retention skills infront of a pressing everton midfield will be our undoing if he plays... Mark my words.

So we'll have... Cech,Azpi, Terry,Cahill,Cole,Matic,Ramires,Salah,Schurrle,Lampard, Torres. I want to rest Hazard, Willian and Oscar plus Eto'o, they need to be fresh for Gala.
Seabourch
Excuse me Merlin, but what is your source ? According to official Chelsea site, Luiz might be available against Gala...

Premier League is much more important than Champions League! We cant win the cl so we have to win vs everton! NO TIME TO REST! We had one week rest!

Can't agree with the assertion of austriablue that we can't win the Champions League. In fact I believe it is easier to win than the Premier League, IF & the IF is important, a team has a run of luck. Sometimes the footballing gods smile on you, 2012 surely proved that or does anyone on here really believe that we were the best club side in European football that year, when we only finished 6th in the Premiership? No, we had some magnificent individual performances, a couple of brilliant backs to the wall defensive displays, and we rode our luck at times but took our (limited) chances & came away with the big one. That can happen in any knockout competition but over 38 games luck, good & bad will more or less even itself out & consistency of performance becomes the key ingredient. I want both & given the breaks, we can do it.

Everton must be gutted. Luiz is out.

YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finney_angel
meaning what exactly Blueheart9?? Are you saying we ain't going to miss Luiz's industry in the pivot - something everyone seems to be agreeing with nowadays? You'd be surprised, if Mikel starts....

Good news to have terry back but we need every other players to be fit in this concluding part of the season. Get well soon david! @dwonder, making such statement about rami and asking for our due respect, beckons nothing but sheer delusion. Keep those kinds of wish to yourself please
