How Will Drogba React?

Wednesday evening, out in Istanbul, when Chelsea takes on Galatasaray, will be a weird experience.

Now as a long standing Chelsea supporter I`ve witnessed several of my favourite players leaving and coming back to play against us, two that spring to mind being Pat Nevin (Everton0 and Kerry Dixon (Luton Town).

I`ll never forget the reception both got, especially that afforded to Kerry when Chelsea met Luton Town, at Wembley, in an FA Cup semi-final.

So Wednesday, when we see Didier Drogba amongst the opposition ranks, will be a strange experience and I wouldn`t be too surprised if there were tears in a few Chelsea supporters eyes when the great man is given the reception he deserves, at Stamford Bridge, in the return leg,

Drogba was one of those players always destined to be a legend, a status confirmed in the Allianz Arena on that memorable night.

As we get ready to face Galatasaray, with hopes of getting into the last eight of the Champions League, Jose Mourinho has spoken about meeting up with a player he brought to Stamford Bridge and a player who has a special place in the hearts of all Chelsea supporters, with Jose remarking,

"It is a strange feeling to be facing Drogba, because he is one of Chelsea`s greatest legends."

"There will be love and respect for him before the game, but there will be no favours from him or for him during the match. I have come up against him when I was at Inter, against Chelsea, and with Real Madrid, against Galatasaray, and won them."

"We know Didier - and he is no different to how he was here with me, still a great player."

Staying on the theme but returning to Pat Nevin, I remember wee-Pat scoring, for Everton, on a return to Stamford Bridge and Pat didn`t celebrate his goal one iota, simply jogging back to the centre circle. A few years later, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, did something similar when he scored for Middlesbrough, at Stamford Bridge.

I just wonder if Didier were to score whether he`ll react in the same manner!

Our players and fans just need to think about Drogba in Moscow,how we should have won the CL earlier only for his stupidity.There are no sentiments in football,put the boot in and provoke him as much as possible.He's the enemy for two matches.Everybody can kiss his ass after we knock them out.

Jose knows how to frustrate Drogba,methinks. Remember Inter versus Chelsea UCL with Jose and Carlo as the gaffer respectively?

the king will be back at the bridge..... where he belongs.... I wish him well though not over the two legs ..but boyy,,!!! he is going to get a very good reception. just like he deserves.

Here is hoping that the gladiator striker dont decide to do all in his power to show our board that he really deserved the two years extension he was asking for back then..also earnestly wishing that hazzard starts showing what he is really capable of to the rest of europe with this match.

I love the man to pieces! The drogba that i know could actually score against us and starts crying though lool. I can't wait for him to get his deserved reception :) If only i can be at the bridge that one time, then i would run on the pitch and give him a hug and then get banned for life loll
