Mourinho - Limitations

Mourinho - Limitations

Jose has a few words after Everton victory leaves us top of the table.

As we prepare to fully focus on the forthcoming Champions League fixture against Galatasaray, on Wednesday, it`d be churlish to not reflect on some words of wisdom Jose Mourinho had after John Terry`s last gas goal wrapped up the three points.

Talking to the media this is what Jose had to say about the result,

"People can say we were lucky and Everton deserved a point, but in the last 15 minutes - plus five minutes of injury time - we were the team trying to win the match."

"It would have been a good point for them, but not for us because it would have meant us losing top position and we didn`t want to give our position away, so we kept going and going."

"We conceded a late goal against West Brom in our last League match, so to score late against Everton was compensation for that."

"I feel that to be where we are at the top of the league, with just 11 games to go - given the limitations of the squad - shows that the boys are sticking together. They are doing very well."

Indeed they are and who knows if those limitations will stop us from claiming the Premier League crown or not!

For me, there has been a massive massive improvement considering our previous two or so seasons ago. having said that, I'd love to judge us on that: adding a trophy this season is an icing on the cake. Don't say I don't covet a trophy though; just keeping my fingers crossed and not getting way ahead of myself

the greatest improvement to this team has been Matic. The boy adds so much to our midfield in terms of interceptions and quick passes to the forwards.

Strikers are our weakness, we need to work our socks off to buy a goal these days!!! Hope all issues are addressed this summer unlike the last one.

The Everton match was a close and evenly contested game. funny enough both do not have outstanding strikers but have been doing well this season. Our strikers need to train harder and find more motivation for the games ahead. If foresee our strikers scoring goals if we don't loose any of them to injury again. #Ktbffh

I think we need to sign two more midfielders and forget strikers. This club ruins strikers. How, I have no idea - but they do. I hated Sturridge when he was here. Now, I can only be envious of Liverpool. I suppose with all of the managerial changes, for a player, it's probably a bit like being in a foster home. Sure, you get your basic needs met, and someplace to call home, but there's little room for nurturing. Gotta hope our man Jose gets some time to bring in the right players, and mold them properly.
