'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tit-for-Tat?

With Kevin De Bruyne now an ex-Chelsea player, having been sold to Wolfsburg during the January transfer window, some interesting information has surfaced in the media this morning.

It would appear that the 22 year-old had a chance to join Borussia Dortmund but any deal was blocked when, so De Bruyne claims, Jose Mourinho intervened after a reputed Chelsea move for Robert Lewandowski fell through with the twenty-five year-old striker opting to join the Bavarian giants, Bayern Munich.

Now I`m not disputing what De Bruyne has claimed but I`ve long suspected this tit-for-tat attitude has been prevalent in football, how about you?

That's very nice for Mou.... If they are not selling us their player, then we should not be doing them any favours with ours... except they are willing to pay thru the roof. It seems that both Abramovich and Mourinho has long memories.. and are disciples of revenge is a meal best served cold.... Our inability to get Modric is still causing us problems till date in the middle of the pitch but we paid them back with willian.
Dwonder
Well if that is the case dwonder why on earth did we sell mata to united when they clearly denied us rooney huh??
kolagold25
This is just crap rumour. Maybe KDB is just *****ed that he had to join Wolfsburg instead of BVB for almost the same price....
Blu_run
non-story for me tbh. the fact of the matter is dortmund WANTED TO or RATHER PREFERRED selling lewandowski to a chelsea or madrid rather than loose him on a free to arch-rivals bayern. the truth is it was lewandowski who wanted to move to bayern. so this whole concept of chelsea taking some sort of a revenge by refusing to sell KDB to dortmund is a figment of his imagination. we said NO because chelsea still rated him in the summer and wanted to see if he could be a part of our philosophy. if this hypothesis were true why would we sell our best player to our title rival and the club that blocked our bid for rooney. food for thought

lol kola and saber ;)

non story...KdB is a baby...why would beasts of football let him know about the goings on at such a high level. He is proving to be such plonker, I am glad we're rid of him, how's he doing at Wolfsburg anyway, he better be playing day in or day out otherwise his petulance will be his downfall.
Gian-Franco/Luca
Lewandowski was always going to Bayern. KDB had nothing to do with it. Not sure what KDB's on about!!

If this is true, Mourinho has ruined De Bruyne's career.
foreign_viewer
@foreign_viewer, has he? KDB is still young and this is a setback but he has impressed in the Bundesliga and there is more than enough time for him to move to Dortmund if he wishes to.
