Mourinho Talks about Shock Palace Defeat

Mourinho Talks about Shock Palace Defeat

Following the end of our title hopes for this year, after the defeat down at Selhurst Park, Jose Mourinho had a few words for the media with the 'Special One` remarking,

'Now we have lost our chance of finishing first. Now we depend too much on other results."

'Crystal Palace deserved the victory, they fought for their lives. We had good chances and their goalkeeper made some good saves in the first half. But their spirit was stronger, their desire was stronger and their commitment was stronger. That disappoints me, but it's a defeat that we can only blame ourselves for."

'Some of our players are not comfortable in these types of matches, like Stoke away, Newcastle away and Everton away. Can I change this? I don't know. My defenders are phenomenal, but in other positions we have players that can be in trouble.'

Your thoughts on the above would be most appreciated.

jose must take some responsibility. ba for schurrle was an error. should have been willian instead of salah too - with palace parking the bus, guile, not speed was the need of the moment.

Very disappointed with the result. Its a fair assessment of our performance today by José. A difficult loss to take, but we have to move on. Psg is a massive game awaiting us.#Ktbffh

Mourinho was the wrong man. He only came to Chelsea because Real Madrid wanted him out after he had tarnished their image.

I think more than lack of spirit, desire and commitment, excessive reliance on counter contributed to the loss... We need to develop another system/style to win games, we cannot continue to rely on counter...

That's why tiki-taka is harder than it looks. If Chelsea players could do it they would.

First of all, every team knows that the beat CFC, you just have to park the bus, press the midfield and counter attack. Our midfield today was *****…Worst game for Matic…and Luiz. Luiz pounding long balls down the field out of bounds. Pathetic. I used to be a huge Luiz supporter, but he is too inconsistent. This team needs a quarterback midfielder that can really move the ball forward and distribute with speed. At this point, if Barca are stupid enough to pay a stupid price, I might sell him. He has lost his position to Cahill and he is too valuable to sit on the bench. Plus, he is becoming injury prone. As far as Torres, JM just can't justify playing him anymore. Ba is worthless also. All the lower level teams will follow suit and CFC lacks the creative ability or the ability to cross the ball and score on a compact defense. To think of the incompetent idiots that forced RDM to play Torres and to sell Sturridge is just incompetence at its worst. How the ***** is Torres on this team anymore? Thank God JM is around to tell these boobs whom to purchase and sell, because without JM the previous clowns wouldn't have a competent manager and with a motley crue of players with various styles and no organization what so ever…It really *****es me off that Torres is still collecting a check…Roman cut your loss…Torres should not make the bench for the remainder of the year. Play the U-18 kids as they provide more of a threat than Torres.

I swear to God, that game was in slow motion from start to finish. The worst part is, when our squad plays like this, it gives certain dumbasses on this forum - whose names will remain anonymous, but whose initials are foreign_viewer) license to talk smack. And even though he/she/it may be talking straight out of his/her/its *********, the criticism is justified. Even if the criticism is wrong and stupid, it was still warranted.

What's the point of beating Manchester City at Etihad Stadium when we lose to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park?

All blame for the goal goes to Terry. He scored. Luiz didn't. Don't shift blame.

" First of all, every team knows that the beat CFC, you just have to park the bus, press the midfield and counter attack " - Doesn't every top team get beaten like that... ? Barca, Bayern etc.

@blue day ofcourse beating mancity is more important than crystal palace, mancity is direct rival whereas palace are not. given a choice between beating a direct rival and other nobody will choose other. that said we should beat teams like palace but stop repeating your comment you know its not correct and we got you

Look we can't win every game but the frustrating thing is we beat good teams and play well but we can't raise ourselves for these types of games and it's a recurring pattern,I really think we can win the champions league you may laugh but there any no lesser teams left so it will suit our players who have a bad attitude for lesser games

Disappointing result, but same old problem this season. It's a pity. But people need to remember one thing, we haven't been among the challengers in PL last 2 seasons, in fact far from it. Our title challenges ended before christmas in the last 2 seasons. This time we hung around much longer, even though most knew there were issues in the squad that were left unaddressed. Striker and a DLP, both top level ones, are imperative. Big summer ahead for us.
