Could we really have to sell Hazard or Oscar?

I've read a few articles they say Jose will have to sell either Oscar or Hazard to fund a move for a top striker.

PSG are apparently prepared to pay 38 million for Oscar. I`m not entirely sure of the ins and outs of the FFP but surely we don't need to sell one of our best players to be able to buy a striker?

Surely we can get a striker in by selling our fringe players and not renewing Cole's contract?

I could be wrong but surely if Chelsea need to sell before they buy clubs like PSG will have to do the same.

From what I can see we are taking it more seriously than a lot of other teams.

No way Hazard and Oscar are not going to be sold!
StamfordDLion
Oscar possible if we fix our team in other areas, Hazard no way. Hazard can also probably do a better job as the number 10.
Pavel Permiachkin
Not happening. We are ok with FFP.
syed230183_chelseafc
No, we have enough cash to buy top players.
Seabourch
Hehehe.. No way we are selling Hazard or Oscar. I think Mikel, Cole and Lukaku are going to be sold... I wouldn't mind if Torres leaves also...
Strapping Blue
Only those players that arent producing the goods should be sold. No way is Lukaku coming in that category
Blue_Mel
I don't wan't lukaku to be sold, but we are going to buy a world class striker in the summer, aren't we.. ? i don't think lukaku would be happy sitting on our bench... maybe another loan deal for him... ? will he stay and fight for starting role... will jose want him as our nro. 1 striker ? i dont think so...
Strapping Blue
I wouldn't mind cashing in on Oscar. Hazard should become a Chelsea legend!! But that's what I thought about Mata... Shaking my head Mou.
Andrew Dott
@Strapping ... i dont see that getting a world calss striker means we MUST sell Lukaku. We could sell Torres , Ba , Etoo and some others . We might be getting the likes of Cech off the wages bill and replaced for free with the likes Courtois . Things are possible, but when we are short of capable strikers , why should we get rid of one so tha we can get another. Yes get rid of Torres (Useless) and is massive wages, and we coulkd do well . Costa (or other ) could do well with Lukaku alongside. Torres cant do **** even with CR7 ( I think)
Blue_Mel
If Mata could be sold, to manure, anything goes.

Hard situation to be in. It's a risky proposition to bring in 2 unknown (to your squad) strikers, while offloading proven ones. In this case, Eto'o would be good to hold onto, even if offloading the other 2. For Lukaku + new striker to have a good chance to gel, they're both going to need lots of playing time. This, in itself, creates additional problems. Perhaps one strategy, could be - in certain matches - to utilize 2 strikers. But if Jose brings in a "world class" striker, and keeps young Lukaku, somebody is still going to end up getting their feelings hurt, without some other tweak being made to allow sufficent time for both... (and form will still have to be considered) Just my opinion of course!

I should have summarized by saying, it's almost easier to bring in one super striker, while letting go of Lukaku. The boy wants to play, and I can't imaging him not making it known. For all those who said "Sturridge 2.0" in the other thread, that's probably a good analogy.
solid7
I think Luis will be sold for 30 million odd to Barcelona. We will buy a Striker and maybe a central mid/ defender. Ba and Etoo will go. Torres will be here till his contract is over. I would get Piazon back as well, but not sure what Jose thinks.
crazyforchelsea
@crazy..how are Barca going to buy ANYONE?
Blue_Mel
Selling Oscar really would not be a loss. As time has gone on, the Premier league is proving far too fast and physical for the player. There is no doubt that he has talent, but why oh why did we sell Mata rather than our fragile Brazilian. Replacing him with a player like Barkley, Koke or even Kroos if he were to become available, would enhance our team far more than Oscar does. Playing him as a creative number 10 has not been a success. And maybe we would start to pick up some points against the lesser teams away from home, where Oscar is the main culprit who has consistently gone missing since he arrived at the club.
Blueheart9
Blueheart9 - You are saying Oscar is more fragile than Mata ?? Really... ? Oscar tackles and he has the ability to play the pressing game. Mata has no physique what so ever.. He can't play the Jose- style.
Strapping Blue
Getting a world class striker means Lukaku wouldn't be able to play week in week out. Lukaku isn't ready to lead the line all by himself next year. He has to improve his game by playing all the time, week in week out. Jose doesn't play with a formation, that has 2 strikers..
Strapping Blue
My point, exactly, Strapping Blue.
solid7
Mourinho's style is not winning Chelsea anything this season.
foreign_viewer
foreign viewer's style is not winning him anything ever.
Strapping Blue
@Strapping Blue, Oscar is not strong enough for the Premier league, sure he tackles back more than Mata, but what`s the point if there is very little else. Mata`s complete game is in a different class. Oscar continually gets knocked off the ball and rolled over in midfield, he doesn`t score enough and can`t pick out a pass more than 15 yards away. He is simply not suited to the tempo or power of the english game. At how many away games since Oscar has arrived at the club has he actually performed, or changed the direction of the game especially away from home? We sold the wrong player and will live to regret it and at present is the biggest weakness in our team along with not having a decent striker. In hindsight keeping KDB would have been a better option than Oscar.
Blueheart9
That's a pretty authoritative assessment, Blueheart... I'd like to think that the boots on the training ground have SOME idea of what is going on in the squad. I guess I have to accept the fact that there are still some out there who believe that such decisions are based purely on a whim, and for completely nonsensical reasons.
solid7
Im noticing that people as ASSUMING a lone striker ...where is this guaranteed?
Blue_Mel
as=are
Blue_Mel
This is never gonn a happend..we shouldn't even make that attempt to sell these two guys...I thnk is better if Torres,Lukaku,Moses or Ba goes..we would be abel to buy World class Strikers..Oscar and Hazard should never be sold.
