Mandzukic is a NO!

With various names being put forward as possible striking options, some favourable and some not, one name that has been mentioned as a possible is looking very much like an improbable.

Over in Bavaria, reports have been linking us with the Bayern Munich striker, Mario Mandzukic, reports have also been linking Arsenal with the same striker.

However, it would appear that the Croatian is not for sale with the Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer, stating that the two London clubs can forget any move for his asset.

That`s that one over with then!

Christ I remember jose saying mata wasn't for sale, levy saying bale wasntfor sale, fergie saying Ronaldo wasn't for sale! these people say there not for sale as hey don't want to look like there kicking a player out! they don't want to have to ay there contract clauses up if they sell them. but if the player asks Bayern to leae or accept a bid X club then he waives all rights to anything written in his contract! im pretty sure with lewendowski arriving in the summer that mandzukic will leave. there oo similar to have both plus pep doest ever play with a bloody CF anyway lol

nice one dave, i agree with your view. I still see them selling him. I think are being trying to be diplomatic about it. But heck he can very much remain with them he and lewandowski would the outright strikers if he did init

It's not final. It depends on Mandzukic with Lewandowski coming in. Also Simeone was pretty honest in saying he would be powerless to stop Costa coming to us if both parties agreed to do business.

@Dave you have a point but none of those precedents apply to Bayern.. They are a different type of club and are run different. I agree that Pep tends to undermine the value of Center forwards but in spite of that Mandzukic is still the highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga this year and even with Lewandowski i actually think Sammer is speaking the truth here. Karl Heinze Rummenigee has said the same thing that Mario is going to see out his contract with them..besides he and Lewandowski are distinctly different types of strikers and after those two the only other striker Bayern have is semi retired Claudio Pizzaro. I know that Muller and the Robery connection also provide a bunch of goals but it would not surprise me at all if come Sept 1 Mandzukic is still a bayern player. They certainly dont need the money. The strikers who are actually available and can be got without expenditure of a fortune include persons like Costa, Ballotelli, Lavezzi and someone like Bony. Cavani clearly wants a move but will cost a fortune, Falcao would also like to escape the purgatory of Monaco but he is older now and has endured a woeful season at Monaco by his prior imperious standards so i dont see anyone paying the monstrous fees it would take to get him out of there. Jackson Martinez at Porto has cooled of this season as far a goal scoring production so the overall pickings are quite slim which is another reason i shake my head my people here keep saying we should sell lukaku and get a Suarez or Arguero type striker as if those type of dribbling, ball to feet, self sufficient strikers are a dime a dozen and available to buy at some flea market auction.
