'If It's Football, It's Vital'

From the Opposition Camp!

Ahead of the huge Champions League semi-final first leg clash with Atletico, in Madrid, we`ve a few words from the opposition camp.

Their club captain Gabi, has tried to use Mourinho`s words about having no strikers to turnaround the situation, with Gabi remarking,

"They don`t play without a striker - do they?"

"It`s clear that Jose has weapons and uses them as he sees fit. He is one to evaluate his squad. But he has Fernando, he has Eto`o - he has several strikers."

Gabi, keen to see Atletico progress to their first ever Champions League Final, has also spoken about the need to take a decent lead to Stamford Bridge, for the second leg, further adding,

"I don`t know about ability but we certainly have more desire and we have to try to exploit that. We have to take advantage of playing the first game at home, as it can prove decisive ahead of playing the return leg."

"On Tuesday we can take a huge step towards the final - but we must produce on the pitch."

If Atletico do produce then we could be in trouble but then again we, according to Gabi, do have some strikers do we not?

Chelsea will do well on this one...We are deadly on counters, something AM has not seen this year...Barca are known for tiki-taka & RM has moved away from counters...Hear Bayern how they nearly lost the super cup...

But, one threat is that the backline will be little exposed due to Cole's inclusion (mostly due to lack of match sharpness)...That will be our loophole..Hope the world's best LB turns up when required.

strikers or not, not going to be an easy one at all. actually, quite pessimistic about our chances (of course, would love to be proven wrong this time). atletico not only have the desire, they also have the momentum. then again, jose always has something new in his locker. first leg is key, i agree.

Eto'o hasn't travelled with the team. So it's Torres who will probably start. Hazard also not fully fit but has travelled along wit Cech and surprisingly MVG and also Ake.

How gabi thinks they have more desire than us is beyond me. I like it they are the one doing all the talking anyways. I am very hopeful for this encounter - the feeling is deep down.
