'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Stat Attack - Liverpool (a)

As we prepare for our encounter with Liverpool, at Anfield, tomorrow afternoon, we`ve been doing our homework and uncovered a few statistics that might enthral you:-

1 - As far as Premier League meetings between the two sides go, at Anfield, Liverpool have a definite edge winning 13 of the 21 meetings, drawing 4 and losing 4.

2 - With regards to visiting Anfield, Chelsea have a poor record in league meetings. In 70 encounters we`ve won only 9, drawn 15 and lost a staggering 46.

3 - The last team to beat Liverpool, in the Premier League, was Chelsea back on 29th December. Since then Liverpool have been unbeaten in 16 matches winning 14 and drawing 2.

4 - If Chelsea are to get the result that`ll give then hope of winning the Premier League they`ll need to inflict a defeat upon a Liverpool side who have won 11 consecutive Premier League fixtures.

5 - Chelsea will need to keep things tight early on. Liverpool have scored 15goals in the first fifteen minutes of matches this season and have scored 7 in the first five minutes.

6 - Chelsea enter this fixture having lost 2 of their last 3 away matches, winning the other one, strangely all three fixtures have ended 1-0.

7 - At a crucial stage of the season, Chelsea have seen their title hopes slip after collecting only 9 points from the last 18 available

8 - Whilst Liverpool start fast it should be recalled that Chelsea have only trailed at half time in 3 games this season, a Premier League low.

8 - Has there ever been a better time for Fernando Torres to score against his old club? The Spaniard has gone 337 minutes, in the Premier League, without netting against his former club!
